P.S. Pete, old man, sometimes you are a little transparent :D - You wrote that in the hope of GETTING an argument about the future of X-Ball.... sorry I didn't take the bate m8.... but keep trying, and buy loads of expensive stuff for your lovely wife, so she wont be too cross next time we go at it, and your blood pressure goes into the danger zone :p ;) :D
Nick, to be honest, I have no idea what you are on about.
I have no inclination to engage you in any debate about the future of XBall or anything else for that matter.
No bait was offered in that or any other direction !!!
But then again, you misreading or misinterpreting my posts for your own ends is not a unique occurrence, I should be used to it by now.

Oh Pete. You know me better. If I wanted to call you out I would have made it much more clear. Actually I would have called you on the phone. Really actually, I would have snuck up behind you and hit you in the head with a brick and had some of friends around to swear that it was a (how did you describe it to me) "proper fight".

I wasn't taking a stab at you. And for what it's worth, my opinion is that there are just as many of the short sighted people on "my side" as there is on the other.

Your whole post is written as if I wrote what I wrote about you. I didn't. Even if I thought that about you specificly, I wouldn't handle it in a public forum.

It's a general post in a forum that you happen to be involved in. No more - no less.

I don't like you. That's true. But it's for far different reasons. You're sexual preferences may be secret to some, but I know the real story. And I have the scars to porve it. If you would have just held still it would have only hurt for a moment. Now, even after all the se years, I still bear the pain of reattachment surgery daily.

If NXL ESPN shows fail, it's pretty bad for the NPPL as well. Ofcourse you can buy your air time but you can't run far with the entry fees as your only income.

What an interesting off season ahead.

Wtf... Is this supposed to be fun? Please keep personal sexual fantasies and preferences to yourself.

Oh Lane, you revealed your sexual preferences as I remember when Alex L became the subject of your desire but I'm afraid I would put up a bit more of a fight especially when you threw that bar of soap on the floor.
In the meantime, I'll give you a call :)

TV failure

So if the TV plans fail - is that because of the format of the program, or the fundamental content, or the production skills of the personnel involved in making the show?

Assuming the latter is out of scope...if the answer is the former then what format is needed? If the answer is the fundamental content, and knowing that TV companies will never again back a horse that has previously lost, then is the end of PB on TV - before it has even begun? If so, why? Or is it the fact that the audience numbers do not begin to add up??

Lotsa questions - apologies, but I'm bored today and need some stimulation. All out of meds so relying on the forums :)

Did it occur to anyone that real publicity comes from non-100% paintball sports magazines and newspapers and not just from TV? And how much campaigning was done to get in? Somewhere between zero and less than zero. Paintball's writers are every bit as good as the general sports writers, yet few I know of try to actively market themselves outside the sport to lure the print media back to it from within. An idea never attempted, or not attempted enough? Why not? It's a hell of a lot cheaper than pouring money down the crapper trying to chase TV, which by the way BOWLING, YES PROFESSIONAL BOWLING has done a better job of accomplishing...

Jac, if this site was devoid of forecasts, bleak or otherwise, it would be a much less interesting place to visit that's for sure, and for Nick to criticise a post that does this, then he's on very thin ice as he has indulged on many, many occasions before but hey, I'm glad you read my articles, I forgot to re-read the ones I did on technical training for teams :)
And you are right again...at least forecasts, bleak or bright, give us a reason to type .heheh ...
I will also review those technical training articles ;)

Cheers and T-4 in the countdown...
hope that someone overseas keep us posted for the news

If some major PB magazine and/or PB website (hint, hint) covers my telephone charges and pays me a small fee I'll call someone on this side of the pond and immediately report the results of every pro Division X Ball game. I'll even phone in reports every chance I get during the last few games.

Any takers?

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give more than sporadic reports on the NXL play-offs.

Let's make "live reports" more than a gross exaggeration.
