I think Pete and Nick are a vital part of the boards. There is nothing wrong with people not agreeing, hell, WOZ has something in his posts saying 'INTHENO SUX'.
I know Woz and he likes me (He's cool and I like him too - but not that way), but when I remain anonymous he thinks I suck, kinda makes you think about things a little, like how much do we believe simply because of the peaople that tell us in teh first place?
My point is that we state our opinions knowing that someone will disagree. Its how we react when people disagree with us that makes us the men (or women) that we are.

One more thing....
Woz - you're gay, and I have fxxked 16 year old chicks tougher than you....

From the leagues, the teams, the players, the fans and Paintball's standpoint the only unfortunate aspect of any of ESPN's involvement was the fact they weren't on hand to capture more of the NXL early round action.
Regardless, fans of the Xball format or not, everyone should watch the shows and make some noize. It's good for paintball generally and everyone who plays competitively, same as FSN coverage of the NPPL and PB2X's Spike TV show. When Paintball wins, we all win.
Well, sorta. When done correctly, yes. Exposure is good, but quality exposure is what is needed now. Better sportscasting is needed. MUCH better. What paintball broadcasts lack is intelligent play by play and strategic gameplay commentary by professional sportscasters instead of two people who just happened to volunteer that day. A John Madden type is needed.
Another great model for commentary and in depth explaination is ESPN's World Series of Poker. The possible moves by the players and what can affect the game gets constant visual and spoken information in a well thought out and structured manner. A field should similarly be diagrammed and marked in a corner or sidebar with colored dots or icons representing the players, with perhaps arrows and chalklines drawn in reference to moves, shooting lanes, and lines of sight.

We need improvements before people see paintball, conclude that they've seen little more than a carnival sideshow, and move on, not to click over again. I hope the early efforts don't have us typecast already and relegated to the $4 B-movie bin.

Baca: B's opinions are his and his alone...I have a nice little essay that I'm pondering putting on the site as an editorial, but who knows. It has nothing to do with the NXL, though.

Manike: I walked into the NPS booth with my wife, a tiny blond woman who's 'blessed". Pity you didn't say hello! Ah well...giving Stetser a hard time and telling those brutes to let Bourgalt out more was fun enough. I won't comment on the whole whole ponytail thing...I'm still fuming over the gray that's starting to invade my hair.

Oh well, didn't realise it was you to say hello to. :) next time.

I was talking a bit... and since I'm one of the few Brits that would be standing in a National truck... :D

As for the grey hair... don't worry about it. Just dye it like I do. ;) :D
