I think that Divs, instead of team rosters should be locked, as if your team wasnt going to attend eg: red heat wont be going to madrid but i might like to go with another team, then roster locking would prevent this, maybe a little unecessarily.

How about locking the divisions, then, instead of locking team rosters? Or perhaps for pro division, have a limited number of roster changes available. This would require tracking of players, but that seems to be working in both PSP and the NPPL, so it isn't like there isn't a system to crib from.
I agree

- But the MS would have to agree with itself then, how to rank divisions in the NPPL and PSP - in terms of MS Division.

But yes, it would solve the problem.

I thought that in Div 3 once a team had taken part in 2 Mill events they automatically had to move up into Div 2 if you look at the league table there is quite a few teams that have played more than 2 events and have even won events its about time we got this players register thing sorted and have teams locked so they cant guest for anyone else rosters submitted beginnig of the year onceit submitted that player is tied to that team for the whole year no guesting for other teams and also records kept of teams players have played for in past years shouldnt be too hard to find out hell they still have our pics and details from 3 years ago.
Basically you play div 3 twice as a player you then get your arse and your team out of there and move up to div 2 i aint naming teams or names cos im sure most people know who we are talking about anyway.

so what teams do you think should step up?

Whats the point in spending loads of cash just to play Div2 and lose most of the games.
Fair enough if a team wins or finish in the top 4 every event for a season then move up. I see no point in doing this before that happens.
Thats of course until the ego of some teams forces them up a Div thinking they are the next XSV and do diddly squat but like to think they are better players than they really are.

Results count not the number of events you play

If after 5 years playing Div 3 and your still comming mid table that means you have reached your level and thats where you should stay.
Its called a competition for a reason.

The idea for Div 3 was for rookie teams to enter but as it stands at the mo its teams who fancy winning a easier trophy instead of trying to better themselves and get to a higher level of play as i understood it the Mill rules used to state that any team playing in Div 3 could only play in Div 3 twice in that year and would have to move up and if they won a event the next time they played a Millenium event they would play in Div 2 its plus i think with alot of the teams there are players on the teams that have played at a lot higher level than Div 3:rolleyes:

Taken from the Campaign Web site
Division 3
Is for novice teams out to experience their first big International tournament. These teams are just starting out in competitive paintball and play the Campaign Cup as a one off rather than competing in the whole Millennium Series.

http://www.millennium-series.com/images/pdf/ranking4.pdf

The league rankings so far now what stands out the most is that Severe VIP have a 1st 2nd and 3rd already now did they move up NO were they made to move up NO should they move up YES when you look at the table it makes you realise how many teams are sandbagging and should move up a divsion. But the Milleniums should be enforcing there rules but they arent bothered they just want the money and aint fussed who or where it comes from.
Thats why you end up with 32 teams in Div 2 and 50 teams in Div 3 and most of them being UK teams so what does that say about the state of UK paintball if teams arent gonna move up and work for their results like Kellys have done instead of sandbagging their way to the top in a lower easier division.

The point is if the standard of play within a team is only that of Div 3 then thats where they should stay.
There is no point in stepping up a Div just to get thrashed every game wheres the fun in that. After all thats why the lower league teams play in Div 3 to meet teams of a equal standard and yes one of those teams will win the event but it dont make em sandbaggers because someones got to win.

How about this: The top Placed 6 teams in Div 3 move up each season.
mind you they could just change the team name each season and stay where they are.

playing paintball an expensive buisness you have to let teams bring in players to fill the roster otherwise you'd end up with teams fielding 5-6 players. Not many players can commit to playing every event.
I Know of 1 Div 3 team last year that spent £27000 just to play the Millennium Series now that is a large sacrifice .

Severe VIP are a slightly different position to most Div 3 teams because they are an invitational scratch team - the lineup changes radically from one tournament to the next with rarely more than a couple of players the same as the last one.

Doesn't alter the fact that they are experienced players though does it?

They hardly fit the description listed by the millennium do they?

Ultimately the rules have to come from the organiser and be enforced. There is no point trying to get people to self regulate because people just take the piss.

Transfer rules, roster locking, division locking etc etc - these are all areas that the Millennium is woefully lacking and can hopefully make headway in 2006. As it stands it's pretty much a farce in this respect.

Any team that has to get ringers in sucks ass, period!

Look at the bullets at Campain, they had Lang and Mr U playing for them, I say "If you carnt do it yourselves then you shouldnt be there".
