but 12 in the head?
As for the trigger assist..just bounce?, I experienced that on Sunday when trying out a marker, scary, trigger so sensitive the vibration from one shot fired it again. Not really an assist, but not legal either. (it wasn't being used in a game by the way, it was just getting set up).

Ahhh, but he didn't hit him 12 times, he missed:)

If it wasn't legal, the judges should check for it and spot it.

Before we continue with this witchhunt, a few questions.

1. Was Lasoya pulled from the game or banned from the event?
2. Was his gun checked for assists?
3. Would any of this be being talked about if it wasn't for the fact it was Lasoya?

My money is on no, no and no being the answer - and if I'm right then it goes back down to good reffing and enforcement of rules. Whereas trying to punch someone goes way beyond that, and respect to Chris for walking away...not many people do when someone swings at em.

1) Not mentioned in the article.
2) When a player is that good, I'd suppose his trigger pull is automatic and so consistent it's no different to full auto, so anyone not as good, would probably think he had an assist.
3) I couldn't care less who he is (UK, so only just aware of him anyway). 12 balls in the head is overshoot, it meant holding his marker on target for at least 3/4 of a second and repeatedly pulling the trigger at close range, not mugging on the run and shooting in his direction. As you said TJ, you've shot 7 or 8 balls into a player who's position was different to what you expected..... so a bit of random fire, even then, you stopped after eight, you didn't fire one and a half times as many in a tight group.

But..... if he wasn't penalised for it, then next time it could be 15 shots in the head, and who's fault is that? a player pushing the boundaries as far as they'll let him (and bad boys get the coverage) or the organisers who let it go until someone is severely hurt?
Think about Mike Tyson... sooner or later he will kill someone in the ring, yet they keep letting him fight, who's fault is that?

Players 'shouldn't' do it but hey, cyclists are willing to run tha risk of death to win the Tour de France with some of the **** they pump into their bodies, and we all know about insane steroid abuse in athletics, swimming etc. Top players will push rules, therefore rules need to be enforced.

I don't see tha IOC giving away too many second chances - there are rules for guns. There are rules for overshooting. Enforce them, people will stop pushing it.

Pball is no different to any sport; the athletes are no different to any other athletes. Problem is, tha judging IS...HB looks like it started taking major strides towards rectifying that.

OK, i did say that i've never seen a Chris Lasoya's angel go full auto. But i have seen players play with the back of their Angel LCDs, push a button and the gun goes into burst mode. I saw a guy do this at Portugal last year, he was in the back corner baracade, and me and a team mate walked right up to the netting behind him and watched him. He was pulling the trigger once and three shots were being fired. We couldn't believe it, but it was there and he did it. It can be done.
If a pro player can pull the trigger 12 times and accuratly hit someone while moving in the head, then there's a safety issue here.

I agree if this wasn't Chris Lasoya, we probably wouldn't be jumping all over this topic. But we should be no mater who it is.

People are going to put pro players in a different light. They need to act responisbly, as anything they do will be scrutinized by the masses. Players like Chris Lasoya, used to be loved by the masses, but people actually cheer now when he gets shot. Maybe the reputation for someone who pushes the rules (and crosses the boundries sometimes) is finally catching up with him.

How'd anyone know 100% it was 12 shots anyway? what did they do, count em as they hit? Don't think so.....
I remember reading an article about this incident a bit ago, this version seems somewhat exagerated then the last version.

EXACTLY, no one knows how many times, but it was a lot.

One kid who was there said it was like 20 times, I'd say 6-12 times, but they are both guesses. Lasoya doesn't even know.

He (Lasoya) wasn't moving much, it was like run up, stop, shoot like crazy, stop, Wayde falls down. Wayde was in a back stand up, this was the end of the game.

For the sake of argument, Maestro--
You know the answer to number one and it has nothing whatsoever to do with whether the incident merited such a response.
Better question--was anybody's gun checked at this event? (I'm hearing alot about certain markers right now and their, shall we say, special powers.)
I think anytime medical personnel have to remove a player from the field it's gonna get mentioned. Does the participant help keep it alive--sure.
C'mon, 'Shock punches out their own guys all the time and we think it's cool, part of the mystique. Sounds like some folks want to play both sides here.

Yeah its on paintballer.com

Basically the changes from their version to this Coopers one is:

5 becomes 12 balls hit.
Playerblacked out for a moment became unconscious and unresponsive
Checked for a concussion become had to have a CAT scan
In hospital for a couple of hours became 7 hours

So i'm of to buy some stock in a salt mine. Since i forsee a run on people having to take a bit of salt with certain paintball articles.

I think its a shame since this Cooper guy made a few good points but he over hyped and over exaggerated far too much for me.
