i don't get it
i really don't get it!
maybe its my youth :D and idealistic approach
but how can THE best team in the world not be in X ball
surely sponsors would jump on dynasty
its seems like damn bollocks politics are interferring way to much!
without dynasty playing i don't think you could say
"the best teams in the world are playing it"

Kris, I had better clarify the above post, I am not saying they are not going to be involved in X-Ball, although as far as I know they haven’t got a sponsor yet, I am saying they are not involved in any of the negotiations with Chuck regarding the NPPL name.
But you never know, that could well be a pawn that becomes useful if Chuck doesn’t give them what they want, we’ll see !!!
Hope that clears things up :)

Impact for the UK

Robbo: What do you reckon the longer term implications are for UK based teams? I appreciate that it has an immediate impact for Nexus and other 'top' pro teams but what implications are there for the average UK joe bloggs tourney baller?

I particuallry am thinking of things like Toulouse and other tourneys that tend to attract more UK teams than the stateside ones.

Cheers

Good question and one that ain't that easy to answer because there will be no real or immediate impact on them other than them not being able to play against the top teams, well, some of them anyway !

Long term implications are that they may be able to take part in X-Ball if it takes off on TV because I think the imperative might well be to standardise the tournament circuits, both sides of the Atlantic, with what's being played at the top level of the game.
I think the X-Ball format gives us the best possible chance of courting TV and at the moment, we have to focus our attention on only a few teams but this is the only practical way of achieving potential TV success with current industry resources.

This is it guys and girls, this is the scoop for next year and you heard it here first. The PSP and the NppL are together yes together and they will be holding all the events for 2003.There will be the x-ball league NXL. The 10 top franchise teams and 6 european teams. There will also be a seperate x-ball class set up for the next 16 top semi pro and am teams, and also a 10 man am and novice class at each event.Events I heard are all at the same cities but you know how things change.

Maybe

That has certainly been one of tha mooted formats which tha PSP liked, and if that is tha case I'm guessing it means Chuck sold tha NPPL name to PSP...or else changed his mind and threw in his lot with the promoters...which I doubt.

Will Dynasty be no. 10 X team though - and how many Euro teams barring Legion, Tontons and Nexus can afford a franchise? And if too many Euros want in and can afford it, what then?

Speculation, speculation.

Does this mean the end of pro 10-player and standard 5-player? And where does Millennium fit into the picture? I have a hard time imagining what an NPPL tournament will look like, if this is true. Fewer teams and more time-consuming or what?
