Any chance we can get this back on track?

What have you heard over the weekend any more developments?

Ooooooohhhhh, who got out the wrong side of bed this morning ?

As for what happened over the weekend, glad u asked Pipes :)

OK, here's the deal, The NPPL, or rather Chuck is coming under increasing 'pressure' to hand over the NPPL to the PSP and thus undermine the new 7-man circuit that is being proposed and organised by Chuck, WDP and a few other companies.

This next few days are critical because it all depends on Chuck's resolve and that is all I can say on that particular matter !!!

What I can say is, if Chuck comes out the other side of this with the NPPL still his own, then the future looks bright for the proposed 7-Man, if not, then it would be more difficult for him to launch the series.

The backdrop to all this is self-protectionism, understand this and you begin to understand the machinations, pressures and stances that are now being undertaken.

I'm sure we will all know in the next couple of days what is going to happen with regard to the NPPL's future.

Planet Piper away from you freaks!

Not me mate. Just nice too see you back......... Was just doing what you pay me that 4 figure salary for! Keeping the board nice and friendly!

As for the rest. What do YOU think will happen?

I mean look at it like this. How can PSP buy Chuck out. OK I know money talks but if Chuck is that determinded to get the 7 man off the ground what could stop him? Even if PSP buy NPPL then he could surely set up under a different name and still run it? Or do I have the ramblings of a nutter? Don't answer that!

Just a thought you understand. Now be gentle I have the Arse!

if the seven man is set up by Chuck in the US, does this mean that there will be a close link between it and the Millennium series? i.e will it be one series where points achieved at both count towards a final trans-Atlantic Scoreboard?

When will this US 7man be set up and running if all goes well?

sam (at uni and BORED!!!):)

What do I think ?
Ha 'frkkin' ha Pipes, put me on the sport why don't ya !!!

As for Chuck capitulating?
Well, money ain't the only way to skin a cat !!

And if I had to make a guess ........hmmmmm..........hmmmmmmmm..............hmmmmmm.... it's a fifty-fifty call to whether or not Chuck can ignore / resist certain propositions.
As of Friday night, his resolve was intact and all was still on for the NPPL 7-Man but who knows what has or could happen since then.
I would guess that WDP, Chuck and certain influential people within the US industry will make sure the new 7-man goes ahead with the NPPL on board.
And that's the last thing the PSP want to happen as it divides up the sponsorship dollar available from the US industry and will also allow a European standard tournament onto their soil.
Once that happens, the Yank Am / Novice / Rookie teams have something to compare.......
And there is only going to be one winner in that comparison !!
There are far too many hats being worn stateside within the PSP, herein lies one of the fundamental problems associated with the existing US tournament circuit, that and a lack of vision when it comes to them promoting the sport outside of the event and paintball itself.
Consider those two facts and it's not surprising that an alternative circuit could prove fertile ground for any enterprising organisation !

I would presume that PSP are saying to Chuck that if you go ahead with the 7 man NPPL and not give the name to us - Dynasty wont be in Xball.

But as it's rumored Dynasty don't have an Xball sponsor anyway, is that as much of a threat - even given the hyping Xball is getting?

i would have thought that given Dynasty's astronomical successes in the past, sponsors would be falling over themselves to back them, what bout WDP, or JT?

who else is left then if all the major companies are already sponsorong? Could this prevent Dynasty playing X-ball? Maybe they will play in the 7man that Chuck is organising??
