Um, Manchester and AC who? Remember, I'm a yank where soccer is a sad afterthought. The analogy is not applicable to American sports, either. There are a whole lot of us that played them in school that do NOT follow the pros and do not care what happens there. TV Ratings for them are dropping like flies and few franchises fill their stands regularly (I admit they have priced themselves out of the market and fans are tired of prissy attitudes and greed). Hmmmm, interesting.
Anyway, my post was not just about X-ball. It was about the alphabet circus of NPPL, PSP, and now X-ball and the continuing soap opera that is a national (and international, I guess), high-stakes tournament circuit. I hope those arena tourneys are not requiring sell outs (to people not playing it) to pay the way, because it won't happen.
It may be "Tygerism" to you, but it is still the truth.
Well, now, 'truth' is a funny thing ain't it mate because what you would call true is merely your opinion and whenever we look at anybody's assertions to the truth, we have to look at where it comes from to give weight to that opinoin or not, as the case may be.
You conveniently ignored the interest on this board that I highlighted as an example of my point.
And if you are seriously asking the peole who read your post to believe that only 1% of ballers are interested in what happens at the top of our sport, then you would have to be a fool.

And I know, you ain't no fool hence my assertion that we are just witness to another form of 'Tygerism' !
Just my opinion u understand !

Well...

Maybe 5-10%.

Honestly, the vast majority of paintball players I know don't really care about NPPL/PSP level paintball. I also know a lot more paintball players at the lower/rec levels. A fair amount of them have never even HEARD of NPPL. There's a lot of paintball out there that's just plain oblivious to it.

But I don't think anyone is selling out or whatever. Paintball is a business, and if it doesn't work as a business, then there won't be any paintball anymore. Paintball consumers are just going to have to learn to deal with being mere consumers. Man, if refridgerator owners acted like this.... heh.

Then either you have a very peculiar circle of paintball associates or the most ignorant because I tell you this much, every sport I have ever got into, no matter what sport, I have always known who was the best at it, from Soccer, boxing, running (when I was much younger) and so on.

Any sportsman does that sport because they like to, it's what they wanna do, I ain't saying that every participant of every sport wants to know who the top kiddies are but it's a natural progression from, interest to participation to sophistication.
That's why sporting magazines sell huge numbers !!!

Now I want to draw an important distinction here between occasional players and players.
Of course the occasional recballer ain't gonna know who the NPPL are and probably don’t even wanna know but please don't try to tell me that only 5-10% of the players who take up this sport seriously would not have heard of the NPPL.

C'mon, Pete, see it for what it is: you just can't stomach the idea that you're not popular all over the world of paintball!:D

The dilemma all celebrities face: Do we really know you or just the image?:p

Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Am confused!

I thought this thread was about PSP/NPPL! Not whether people liked Robbo or not or anyone else for that matter!

Any chance we can get this back on track?

Pete

What have you heard over the weekend any more developments?
