As Avery (off of NPS/KEE/Diablo Storm) said to me once

"whats the point in joining Pro and placing 5th - 8th every event. Drop down a Division and be on the podium a few times a year. Hell the sponsors will love it! And you'll feel good too. Awesome, have a noice day, tomayto."

ok its not a word for word quote.
Commonly known as Sandbaggin, no top team would take any pleasure from this at all. i would rather play CPL and place 5th and play SPL and place second. but thats partly what twiz is gettin at people say they wanna get better but talk is cheap. if you wanna be the best then you play with the best. some decisions make themselves

the grass isnt always greener.....

there has to be belief in the person who is putting this team together,
that he will get all the best players of the average teams, or it will be just another average team somewhere else,

robbo managed to do a similar thing back when nexus first formed, so it aint impossible.

No, Nexus playing M5 Millenium is sandbaggin. Dropping from CPL to SPL if you aint getting near the top, is causing money problems, and you just cant get the players you want because they are all spread out on mediocre teams is not. No matter how proud you sound.

hard to read but nicely said. It's nice to feel not alone. I mean nobodys saying they wouldn't leave to play for Dynastly but team work and team mates is really important to how well you play overall anyway. My team mates are awesome but we wouldnt hold each other back either.

I dont really know....its fairly hard choice.

Course i want to get better, but my teams young, and for all iknow in a few years time we could be up there with the best. I guess thats what would make me stay, not knowing where i could be, gives me a 'little thrill' you may say.

Leaving teams for the sake of a bit more practise is drastic. Although, I'm not tyring to undermine anyone who has left a team in any way. :D And I'm not trying to start any arguments :p

Hope that wasnt aimed at anyone in particular
Think when it comes to leaving teams if you're in it for the fun then fair enough staying with friends to play tournies etc, buuut....if you're given an oppurtunity that will get you places and you're willing to dedicate the time then it would be stupid to turn it down. Guess there's just a lot of people that play for fun and nothing else.

I ment leaving teams for the sake of practicing a bit more and getting where you want to be with your current team instead of leaving for a team that are already more. Not leaving to train more regually.

Me thinks someone wound Twizz up this weekend !! :):)

Think i can answer a little of this thread , iam sure it would be better coming off some of the younger guys that have moved to some of the cpl teams for this season , but from someone that has done it , the whole dumping your mates card , which i have done that a few times .

I will save u all the chapter and verse

I had my own little team "pornstars"......yes back in the day , i pretty much ran it with my closest friend , i had been playing with my own team for about 2-3 yrs , most of these guys i had known for about 7 yrs , they were my closest friends .

we all played the game week in and week out,we all became family over night once you join a team ,Without a doubt it will be the hardest decision you will ever make to go to a pro team , its the fear of the unknown , but you have to ask yourself "why do you play this game" if its just to play with your mates , best stay with them , if its to become the best player you can possible be , then you have to take that chance .......with out trying ,there will be nagging question what if!!??

What i will say ,taking the chance and going to the CPL/SPL team you will learn far more in 6 months than you will spending 3 yrs with your own team , they have the wealth of experience that you can not get from your lower divs ,playing much better players makes you become a much much better player.(simple i know but it needs to be said over and over)

personally with out taking the chance of leaving my team , i doubt i would be still playing now.
