Well my BLUE one arrived today (Add : Ner, ner, ner!)
(It's a US board though....mwhahahah, how many fire modes?!?!
)
I've got at it already and it now sports a pretty solid no-rise (the stock plastic feedneck is a bit nasty...it kinda slides around the sides of your hopper as opposed to a good grip feeling), Smart Parts Gel-grips, a Freak barrel and an armageddon primary reg...admittedly it's possibly now doubled in weight...but with the featherweight of this thing compared to my impulse....who cares?
The feel of this marker is fantastic, nice, light and small. Makes you feel you can make some good runs as well as getting tight into bunkers with it...I also think it's crying out to have a warp feed fitted, but I think that's just me!
Quirky bits: We-ell it took me five minutes to find the power button...looking at the manual and scratching my head because it looked like there was an LED where the power switch was meant to be....until you try pushing the LED...which turns the marker on and I suddenly feel like Mr Dumbass. Practically I like this setup, it's compact, easy to see, and has the "one-press" eye operation similar o the impulse. BUT I think that it would be easy for this area to take a hit and the impact turning your eyes on/off...i'd have preferred to see the button at the back..but a minor quibble.
2nd has to be the rubber grip around the vert-reg....yuk....good idea for gripping in the wet possibly, but the reg slides around inside the sleeve....it does mean you can repost on someone with only having to move your rear hand...but I don't like the slidey feel to it.
Other than that, on first impressions, this is a pretty sweet marker, it feels good and solid, DEFINITELY doesn't feel like a toy, which has been a criticism levelled at some quarters and is as light as you like....brilliant value in terms of build quality......which only leaves me to say
....has anyone got any air? I can't test it
