Hmmm...I really have to wonder. Does someone have it in for the Russian Legion? At Portugal they were accused of cheating with markers capable of firing full auto. Then at the DMA a score sheet goes missing that would have affected things. And now at they're accused of cheating with surgically implanted communications devices (That is the fecking stoopidest thing I have ever heard). What’s going to be next? WTF is going on? And if there is a tinge of "The evil empire" phobia, get the hell over it...
it's all about winning and losing. The yanks are expected to win but some upstart stepping up and getting the job done and putting the pressure on the Euros from outside the "club" is a completely different deal--one that some apparently are having a hard time accepting. They could be from Iceland or Swaziland, it wouldn't make a difference.

not too sure how to quote through this board,

just to clear up a quick point, robbo the point i was trying to put across was if this guy really has that much of a problem that he had to make a point about it!
why go to such extremes as putting a stop on the whole thing, when what he is really kicking off about is them communicating!

surely he could think and just request them to stop the commentary!
but having the organisers step in is taking it a bit far without any evidence!

i wasnt at the event so i do have a question
was this point only raised when the rl came up against the said nut-ballers team and they perhaps lost? or did he make a fuss from the very start of the tournament?

cheers guys

Well don't know if anyone has suggested this, but if it's possible to check players guns during a game with a handheld chrono, surely you could have a handheld RF detector on the field too, to detect any radio use during the game. Just an idea anyhow.

Guys ...chill !! The accusation of implanted communication devices was actually a fair way back in time, Robbo was highlighting one of the many accusations that have been levelled at RL...has to be said that is wasn't that many years ago that the same accusation was being levelled at One or Two American teams..(but the reasoning was the same as it is now...they can't possibly be that good so.....) We won't be needing RF detectors around a Field...what about the judges radio's ??? that will set the alarm bells ringing RF by "normal definition" and use is OMNIDIRECTIONAL (that means it goes in each direction at the same distance) so a totally impractical idea to put in place cos you would have to have an exclusion zone ummm well how big do we wanna go ?? (mobile phones give off RF as well)

I was thinking of handheld RF detectors that are designed to be used within short distance from the source and if you go for the specialised ones, can locate the location, strength and frequency if needs be. Really depends how big an issue this is and if it's worth the extra trouble of taking the same stance with it as things stand now with checking markers during play. As I said, just an idea.

It's a none issue and can not be compared to checking markers!

In the old days teams used to get checked for tools and communications devices and I see no problem with such a thing happening as long as it is done fairly across the board.

To single out one team like this is appalling. And to stop them filming is quite literally a joke.

My GF speaks fluent Russian, if the millennium board likes they can have her come to Toulouse and listen in on the commentaries :) (meant as a joke as I have no concerns about the commentaries and am just trying to get my GF over on a free ride ;) )

But that would be all that is required to prove such a stupid accusation wrong. Just think about it? Russian isn't that uncommon a language, RL would be taking a big risk having someone give directions from the side just in case there was someone who could understand. I don't believe it's a risk any team would take or be so obvious about if they even were!

errr... Actually I think there is a very serious issue here and err... I think my GF should be flown over and put up in a nice 5 star hotel in order to make sure nothing is going on... just to be certain she will need access to the mini bar and errr... ;)

So you flew in one of them mail order brides then...:D (says the man with a South American wife)

I do think that this is a very serious issue. I can't for the life of me understand why some people come up with this nonsense. All we do is have a good giggle over it, while in reality we should organise an angry mob with pitch forks and torches to chase those insane enough to come up with these theories out of town!
So where'd I put that damn fork?

Sean, the guy can think what he likes but he has no right at all to ask the RL to do a damn thing and if he don't like it, tough f##king **** !!!

As to your suggestion regarding the reason why the said nutballers asked for such a ban ?
I spoke to one of them the other night and he told me, 'yes' they did get beat by them and 'yes' they did then ask for filming to be stopped...makes ya think don't it ?

We'll see what happens in Toulouse in what can potentially be described as a nutball fest just waiting to happen !!!

Askin thr Rl to stop filming is stopping a free right isnt it?

Is by any chance that promoter american?

I think the reason for this is because that promoter has friends in other teams or sponsors who support the players who winge their asses off.
They go to him and make a big display of it and then he takes it OTT (over the top)
What they are influenced by is the naggin thought in their head on "How can these guys be soooooo much better than us without cheating?"
Thus makin them think that RL are usin some other means of cheating which is BS.

They cant stand being rolled by RL even though they cheat to their hearts content.

Cameras surgically implanted?
Ahahahahha does anyone know how much those things cost, besides they are only in the prototype stage in research laboratories.
Has the RL got a spare Mil?
This guy(the promoter) has obviously got a low IQ for saying such crap.
Which leaves me with thought of, if a promoter thinks he can do that all the time to RL who is clean, then how can teams who cheat get away with it?
Is he by any means corrupt robbo? (no insult intended)

Teams who cheat have friends in higher places, and this is a good example.
They cant stand the playing abilities of these great players so they whine, shout and cry to the promoters or the other high-up people.

Shouldnt the marshalls decide this?
