I take it you have tried RACE new Hyper-mode that they have just released in their new Firmware? It does exactly that. Once you hit a certain rate of fire the Marker goes full auto and stays like that as long as you continue to pull the trigger.

Booyaah you serious?
Omg i was so shocked about using barrel condoms at divisional AND national Xballs. Players coming without condoms to pit and throwing guns when half of the pit is without goggles.
Also EGi did say its not fun to be teching at NXL pits coz players shoot him coz no barrel condoms :)

btw booyah will we see your team at europe this year?

ok... NXL is a separate league so they can shoot holes through each other as long as I'm not inside the netting :) But while playing in the NXL you have to expect so much pain in a 1.5 hour period.

I have not played Xball, so I can't really speak for what happens there. I'm talking about 7 and 10 man. I have been in the NXL pits and have seen many guns without barrel condoms but none that have been thrown. I just look away as I would prefer a shot in the back of the head rather than the eye if I had a choice.

Yes, we hope to play Europe once. It's rather draining for all of us with non-paintball jobs and school to miss so much time off because we're doing both series but I think we can manage 1 trip over the puddle. I believe it will be London.

ok, I'm definitly no dumbass in those technical things but if i rip my gun i actually cant tell if it shoots as fast as i pull the trigger, or if it "cheats"... (wont tell what marker i use ;) )

so what? am i a cheater? would the nppl f*** me and my team?
this whole thing is going to get ridiculous...

on one hand theres the saftey issue, on the other everbody wants faster markers to stay competitive...

Testing

Could it be possible for teams to test their marker on this machine before the comp with no penalty to see what it registers as if they honestly didn't know then they can remove the marker until it's ok?

If they decide the machine is going to be sold on the open market then it's also possible for cheaters to take it apart to try to beat it and that's a whole new issue.

The reason that Phil came up with is that if your gun is illegal and while you set it down the trigger gets bumped that it will shoot off X number of paintballs. He's saying that X is more than 1 ball and barrel condoms are not made for that. He's also alleging that this will happen in an area where there are other people not wearing goggles. It basically comes down to this: They can could up with the stupidest excuses in the world to do it but the fact is it's their league and you have to do what they say if you want to play in their league. I personally think they're going to catch 10x more innocent people than people who actually are trying to cheat the system.

The example I gave on another board is that if you gun is fired 130 times and the magic black box says your gun fired 131 balls... are you kicked out of the tournament like Phil alleges because technically that IS ramping and reason enough for them to do what they claim they will: kick you and your team out of the tournament. Pulling the trigger 5 times and getting 131 balls and pulling the trigger 130 times and getting 131 balls are both ramping and would fall under the same punishment. Well now wasn't that a great way to spend $4,000 (if you're from over seas add some money to that). The problem is discretion and where do you draw the line? That's where innocent people get caught.

and that's the point. no doubt, they have to penalize obvious gun-cheating. mowing down your opponents with a timmy with debounce 1 is such a case. but how do you punish a player that uses a marker with a software that adds multiple balls when ripping your gun with 13+ bps. there's a point in which the player isn't involved anymore.

Another issue is they are planning on penalizing--to one extent or another--the wrong people. The vast majority of "gun cheats" aren't modifications made by techno-geeks in their basements one gun at a time. They are part and parcel of the markers oem specs or aftermarket "upgrades" made by elements of the pball industry.
If the leagues want to make a real dent in the problem they could do some serious "scrutinizing" and start banning some products from their events.
As it stands the leagues are happy to accept "sponsorship" green from anyone, give them a place to sell their gear and then turn around and toss some players or teams for going ahead and buying the stuff.
I'm all for getting tough on "gun cheats" but this is like busting petty drug users while you accept donations from the dealers.
