I can see what your saying Rancid but how old are the guys on this team? Suppose they are young, say sub 20. Don't you think there's a chance that they wouldn't have been told in too much detail about the Holocaust?

We have a national curriculum here, and certain controls on what is screened on TV etc. Don't you think there is a strong chance that the Germans may not want to think too much about their past? They may well brush over the exact details as having to admit your nation butchered between 6 and 8 million people must be pretty disturbing, not exactly something to be proud of, is it?

Anyway, enough reasoned debate. If the name hasn't changed when we get to the DMA then I think we can safely say they will be Phucked! They must have been told by now!

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it...I would imagine tha Germans are taught exactly what happened in as much, if not more, detail than anyone else...

C-mon, 7 or 8 German adults on a team and not one of 'em knows what Final Solution means? I'm all for benefit of tha doubt but that is stretching credibility a lil too far even for me - and I believe the CIA shot JFK, tha moon landings were faked and that Wadidiz will one day post something less than 300-words long...

Well you would hope so, but can anyone offer up some fact on what the Germans are taught?

As for streching credability I quite agree, it is "a little" far fetched but I would be interested to know if the Germans are learning from their past, or trying to forget and move on. Do you really think it's that ridiculous that a country would try to bury some of its past? Put it another way, despite studying history all through school I was never taught about Northern Ireland's recent history, or Bloody Sunday! Still think I'm subscribing to a conspiracy theory? You might be right but then again...

The germans were , especially when it was West Germany, taught exactly what happened in the '39-45 conflict, all my German friends know exactly what went on, and you do realise that they are not exactly proud of it, so I don't think ignorance is an excuse here.

Philip, how old are you? Not having a dig here, just my curiosity. If you have any grandparents who were involved or old enough to remember that period, I would suggest you go and ask them about it. I'm sure some of their restrained remarks on it would be 'wicked and evil' in the truest sense. And then ask them about the treatment of the Dutch during this period, and it would instill the same response.

I understand your reasons for wanting the freedom to do/say whatever you want, within legal reason, but part of being a decent human being also invloves being sensitive to the effect your actions have on others around you, a real case of do unto others.....

Anyway the promoters of the event are now fully aware of this issue and I am sure it will be dealt with appropriatley.

If they are taught it all then there can be no excuse for what they've done. I just like to know everything I can before making a judgement on people I have never met or know anything about!

Rights and Duties....

The fact that you have a right to free speech does not remove one's duty to society as a whole, or in this case the Paintball Community

As a personal note my family (on my mothers side) were Austrian Jews some of whom emigrated to England at the dawn of the 20th Century (hence my existance). The remainder of the family who stayed back in Austria appear to have gone missing in the 1930's/40's... anybody care to hazard a guess why?

Can't believe ANYONE could possibly think the name "Final Solution" was appropriate to any endeavour. What's next? Arbeit Macht Frei as a Team motto?

Personally i thik its disgusting that a team would want to be associated with the willfull massacre of millions of Jews! I think that anyone with half a brain would never want this kind of thing atached to their team. What kind of view would a potential sponsor take to this team??

When Paintball hits the mainstream, as evryone on here wants it to do, what would the public think??

Do yourself a big favor mate and change the name of your team. This is not a personal request( I couldnt give a f**k what your team is called) Just look at these posts mate , there is more hate mail here than you could shake a ****ty stick at!! You will thank yourself in the long run, and there are plenty of good names to choose from that no other team has yet
