The attempted genocide of the Jewish race, less than 60 years ago, on their home soil.... and we shouldn't assume they know this? What are you suggesting, it's some kind of remarkable co-incidence that they chose this name?
Maybe I find it too absurd that anyone would call themselves such a terrible name when knowing its true meaning.
Quite a few german paintball sites have run the story of Final Solutions split with Team Mellow. Not once have they commented on the new teams name. Maybe its not such a big deal in germany (pretty fu@king sick if thats the case) or the fact that the words "final solution" do not have the same meaning in germany. I did an internet search on Google's german site for "final solution" and no german websites mentioned the holocaust.
Maybe we should ask some our german ballers who frequent these boards and ask them their opinions.
Remember that lots of things lose their meaning when translated into another language. Who can forget Kennedy's famous "Ich bin ein Berliner" which in german means " I am a doughnut"
What I am trying to say is that I would like to give the team the benifit of the doubt. If they intentionally used that name knowing full well what it meant then they deserve whatever they get.

I know all the guys from the Team this thread is about. They are all very young and not very good in english and they will change their name immediately.I guarantee you these guys haven´t seen their name in that context,maybe they were shortminded.
They all have played in many different teams in very short time .3 months ago they found together and the new team should be their "final solution".

well done to them. Easy enough mistake too... their was a case last year when a German town separated it's twinning with an English town over a gift made by schoolkids...... a map of Europe they'd made in art. The problem being they coloured german territory in brown. No problem to a Brit or American, but to the Germans they thought it was a deliberate insult.
The Brit kids were heartbroken when they realised they'd used Hitlers chosen colour to highlight germany.
Now Joy Division and Nam wrecking crew?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't find the names personally offensive, but the fact that thousands of people would be disgusted by them places me firmly in the "change it dammit" camp.
Change of name: Pro's: No holocaust survivor has to pick up her grand-kids PGI and collapse from the shock.
Cons: Some shirts have to be re-printed.
Pretty clear to me.
Taliban Death Squad.
The suicide bombers.
etc... etc.. etc...
