i have been cused though the years for taking players off teams .The top and bottom of it is that if the player who is being "poached" feels,1 is getting better deal ie cheaper paintball and more importanly he will play at better standard then said player must got the other team.

Another one for you.

Tommy on nexus is 17 i think (looks 10)

Robbo did not ring up temple knights and say "can tommy play out with us now "it just does not happen"

More importanly tommy was a good player with temple knights now he is playing with better players like ledz and co his ablity has gone though the roof .

This is just my point view :p
Chris, I see your point, but it is a little different, Tom Pemberton going to play for the most exciting british team from a folding site team, and one of our YG`s getting poached from a acadamy run by one of the teams sponsors.........
Now we dont mind the fact he`s left, good luck to him, its the common decency that we thought existed in the sport these days
BTW Good luck to you and the boyz at the next Super 7`s :)

OK i can hold my hand on my heart and honestly say that ever member who has joined apoc has done so because they have come along and joined.
Not one member has ever had a try out as we adopt an open door policy on team members, we take them no matter of skill level, all that is needed is wanting to have fun and a commitment to play. We see Apoc as a family before a team.
Also not one member of Apoc has come from another team, EVER.
The only ex team players we have are the guys from Ignite, And we took em all on as they were having trouble keeping a 7 man squad together, so was more of an amalgamation.

From the e mail i recieved it seems my judgement on morale code was correct, and personally i feel any form of poaching sucks. Poaching is the thing that causes teams to fold, people to fall out and a world of dis respect. A simple call or mail could make things go across a lot smoother. Yet in our growing sport retarded mind sets will keep this practice alive and see a growth of animosity.

Something i feel is the best part of our sport is the respect Teams have for each other. The way i see it without that we would be a sorry group. Along those lines i personally count unreal out of that team respect group and as far as i am concerned wouldnt give them the time of day.

From this i learn one thing, Guys if any of your team plan to go anywhere associated with Unreal, contract them first!!

Just would like to comment on this as i kinda on subject but not really an issue i wanna get into....

How many great UK teams folded through the making of Nexus?
Ack just wish i could post the next part of this point, but fear a banning if i do ;)
Just a point to consider for teams is how about working on the skills of all players and go from the bottom up. It is far more rewarding. Apoc are a long way from any noteable placings, but when we get there i know all the guys will have put in 100% as a team from first picking a marker up, first tourny right through to that place. We all did it together.

Non of this picking the cream of the crop to compete, We will get there on our own merits with time and commitment.

Hi jamie

I do not want to add fule to the fire,

If no one kept you informed, I am sorry I did mention it to unreal and to Edd that you might appreciate being told. I have always considered Apoc friends and I know that as a team you are a little sensative after a few events last year ie Will which was slightly diffrent. Bearing in mind the players involved are all young um 16 and 18 -19 I think mabey we should cut them a little slack hopefully they have learnt from this. Yes Edd and Revoss in fact a whole gang of them came to accademy. Captains also hang out and watch players not all the time but form time to time if they are looking for players.

I know exactlly how you feel I spent 8 months putting togther a young guns team last year only to have them poached, on one occation right from under my own nose on my own site. After very firmly advising the person in question that if he carried on splitting up teams he would not be welcome, this was not the first time it had happened. So I am not unsympathic to your feelings.

But we all know as Chris says if player get the chance to move to a team that they feel will suit there needs better they will go. This is not the same as leaving your team short to go play a trial tourney with another team and then once you have decided the grass is green saying your off.

I don't want preach or make things worse and if the players in question did not realise you would take offence then I am sorry once I intersected the huddle I did say you would apprciate being kept informed.

Good luck with the team. I do know what you are trying to achive but inevitably you will lose players along the way, some will go to other teams, some will find wine women and song, some will just give up. I am sure you will stick with it, I know what you do is very much with your teams best intrest and the sport in mind. Good luck I hope to see you guys soon I have pmed but trouble has lost some numbers from my files so I have not got your number I have tried to call.:)

Surely if I read a wanted ad that I think is attractive, I apply, and I get a job offer, it is my responsibility to tell my current employer that I have been offered another job. Likewise, when a player gets offered a spot on another team, and he accepts, it's his responsibility to inform his own team. Sure, a phonecall from the new team might be nice, but I don't think it is a must do.
When I hold tryouts for my team, I make sure everybody that plays paintball in Holland knows about it, including other teams and their captains. If I then see a player that I like, I don't feel it is my job to inform his old team. I WILL however tell the guy to do the decent thing, and inform his old team as soon as possible.

What? You'd hold back a player from playing at a higher level with a 'better' (staying out of that) team and the chance to increase their playing ability?
Just sounds selfish if you ask me, as a captain youve got to do whats best for your team but you cant keep someone who don't wanna be there.

Think about your players as well as your team.

this country needs a player register.

a player registers with a team then when he wants to transfer or wants to be picked up by a new team then the central register is informed and then from this everyone is informed.

this will also allow a photocard registration and will stop sandbagging
