EXL Sportsmanship...or lack of it

Can we please get back to slagging Robo--I mean, discussing the bloody poor sportsmanship demonstrated by the EXL? :D
Seriously, though, Steve took it easy on all of you, apparently. If peeps direct any talk toward the field of play, in the ref's opinion, they routinely hand out two minute minors over here--and that's divisional Xball.
Tho I must say the NXL refs tend to tolerate considerably more abuses than do the divisional refs.
If Steve and da boyz had dropped the hammer on all y'all this first event you probably would'a squealed like girls but it would'a been much smoother sailing thereafter. Now, next event it's gonna be test the refs all over again to see what flies and what doesn't.

Baca-chan,

We were lucky that we did any judging at all under the circumstances. I was unable to do very much monitoring of the judging because I was too busy running up and down steps, running back and forth between the tower and the admin. tent and honking my human horn to do much of anything else (but I did get time to see Legion play NXL-class ball:D ).

There are certain things that have been reported that I would have dealt with if I had seen them in time. There are many things that I learned about that I did address. Then there was adjusting to the new placement of the coaches' boxes, across from the tower where I couldn't see them.

Whatever the case, we certainly can't be accused of being slack. It looked to me that we already have far better control of cheater guns than anything I've seen on the other side of the Atlantic.

We have a long list of details that we will address and get improved. I certainly expect something close to perfection in Amsterdam in terms of judging, set-up, venue and organization. The only thing we won't have control of is the weather.

We dont have anywhere near the same number or type of cheat guns over here. Therefore we have nowhere near the same problem with cheater guns over here as they do over in the US

Thank God for that! But from what we experienced in Germany I can tell that it was on the way over here like an outbreak of SARS. I think our determination and resolve has already begun to put the brakes on it. It will never be perfect but we will get even more substantial control of gun-cheating. We have more help on the way.

True, but aside from Shockwave and Ton Ton who were at both Paris and Germany, there were none fo the same teams at either event. The fact that Arsenal, Dynasty, Brass Eagle, XSV, and Avalanche were not in Paris may account for the easier ride with regard to guns. Although you would have clamped down on illegal guns in paris, you did not have to because the majotiry of the offenders were not in Paris to be clamped down upon.

Good effort !!

Accusing Arsenal, Dynasty, Brass Eagle, XSV, and Avalanche of markers with cheats, that should further their resolve next time you play them.

I realize you had difficult--I was gonna say, unusual, but seems like something crops up alot--circumstances to deal with. I was otherwise simply commenting on the seemingly generally agreed to premise that the coaches, players, fans, etc. were frequently out of control in the EXL. Maybe that wasn't really so. My point was that the bedrock requirement of the officials is the maintenance of institutional control. Everything else they do flows from that and without that they are one step away from chaos.
Either way I expect you will have all well in hand in the 'Dam.
