EXL Sportsmanship...or lack of it

In the EXL the problem right now is that the people that have baught into it all have quite different views on what the EXL should be. For example you have the russians:

-Totally professional
-Just play and do theri job dont want to hurt anybody
-Cheating is not taught of as a method of achieving goals (this is also enforced by coaches and strict team rules)
-Allways thank the marshal are friendly (even thaugh most of them dont speak english)
-Never swear
-etc etc

Perfect prototype of a perfect professional team. OK

What are the other teams like how are these same values promoted in the rest of the EXL teams. Nexus, Ton Tons, Tigers, Joy etc etc.

Clearly these values are not enforced as much. I think that the people "running" these teams should consider what image their teams have.

Examples
ROBBO shouts very loudly:
"You ****ing marhsals suck...." after one of their players gets a minor for a hot gun.

No extra minor was given to Nexus for this rule infraction (refering to ROBBO). But this does show what values the team has when thier "spokes person" or front persnl, first of all, breaks rules by verbally abusing marshals and clearly does not think that the hot gun should have been a penalty.

Now this is just one example out of many that I saw. Where the VALUES that should be cherised in a closed league by the teams clearly are not valued at all. So all the EXL team should sit down and think what goeals the league should have and put it on paper. What needs to be done to reach these goals and what values should be upheld to get us to those set goals.

If they are not cherised by the EXL teams and their promoters front people etc the players will not care and you will end up with just another poor attempt to make something better in the world of paintball.

Not making excuses but I doubt there was a coach there who didn't yell at the marshals, pit crew, players, spectators, just about anyone - but believe me when I say Robbo was no where near the worst

Firstly, I have no idea who you are or what your motives but I will answer truthfully, I did shout at the refs and I was subsequently warned, and then I left the pit area.
The judges did not ask me to leave but I left of my own volition (and my wife’s timely advice) believing it to be the best and most sensible course for my team, Basically I did not wanna piss the judges off to a point where they did penalise my team.
It seems to me anything over that initial warning would seem a little harsh but hey, you must think different for some reason, that reason has more to do with you than it does with justified complaint.
It seems peculiar to me that you select this one incident when I saw several other coaches swearing many times more than myself, abusing the judges (in the heat of the moment) deliberately trying to intimidate judges and influence decisions and many more infractions.

You don’t mention these at all, I wonder why..everybody saw these infractions and yet you choose to ignore them in favour of digging me out and questioning my integrity.
My shouting was on the other side of the field to the stands and so well away from the spectators, the other team's sideline coaches were right in front of the crowd and everybody saw them behave improperly many times.
So how on earth can u try to take the moral high ground and quote just my case ?
I shouted on that occasion and then left the pit, job done as far as I am concerned; what did ya want, my head on a platter?

For God's sake, XBall is the most intense stressful paintball arena I have ever had to deal with in my life, thank god Steve Morris had realised this when instructing the judges in how best to deal with anybody involved with the teams.
I left the pit area coz I just did not possess the temperament to deal with the stress professionally.
We all have to learn from this first XBall tourney (me very much included) and one of the things we have to learn is how to deal with the real time stress that is so present in XBall.

And yet here's you picking me out when I would think I could name and shame at least four other coaches and god knows how many players who did a lot worse than myself and visibly so and yet you choose to highlight me.

I interpret it as him saying it applied to ALL EXL teams exept RL.

And when he mentions my name, did u similarly interpret it as meaning all other offending coaches bar the Legion's ?

Yes. Maybe you should read it again, with emotion-filter off. He just mentioned you as an example and pointed out that this was just one of many incidents. But that's just my interpretation (but I WAS top of my school in text analysis back in the days :) )
