The NXL banned photography last year for the first two events, because they felt allowing people to take pics for free would devalue the series in light of the fact they were trying to sell the rights to Dick Clark. They'd changed their minds by event 3 though.

A big reason Joy want to play EXL is to get more media exposure for us and for our sponsors.
If we dont I see little reason for us to be there..
Steve promised to check out whats going on and get back to us, lets wait for that first Pete.

Worst case scenario, we play more NPPL instead :)

looking at this from a Div 1 perspective, it shouldn't be that we, a Div 1 team, are likely to get more coverage than the top teams in the league above us. Good for us, but without the EXL throng of talent we wouldn't be in this position. There would be no Div 1.

And also the fact that we will be trying our best to get promoted to EXL for 05, what benefits will that actually give us if all people can do is talk about us when we get in there.

Imagine asking a prospective sponsor for some ca$h backing and then not being able to show them what they are backing.

"yeah ....er......you'll have to take my word on that one!" cue nervous laugh.

There are other benefits to filming games, such as watching them for training perposes when you get back to good ole England.

At the very least they could tell you guys,

"look this is the situation, sucky I know, but its because X Y Z is gonna happen and then XYZ and XZY ... and eventually Dick Clark will be doing DVDs"

they could just let us/you know whats what. Seeing as we give em lots of hard earned cash.

As I understand it the video recording ban will stand in the EXL -though whether that applies to team's recording for their own purposes or just to companies looking to broadcast games is unclear in the wording - at least to me. Trying to clarify now.
