I'm not a cynic, I'm a realist
Interesting but it's been clear to any clear thinking individual that the NPPL opted to focus on high profile teams and players when it comes to enforcement. The reasons for this--they can't begin to catch everyone but any high profile nabs they make get a) lots of publicity (thus validating the NPPL's "tough stance" and b) serves to warn off, they hope, the lesser teams who might be considering doing the same.
This way they maintain a reputation for being rock solid on gun rules enforcement discouraging future participants from cheating and they disrupt the actual events and majority of paying customers almost not at all.
As to the DQ itself--of course what it caught was bounce [between 2-10 extra balls per 20 pulls?]
Were Entourage purposely targeted? Has Dynasty had numerous "equipment failures" throughout the year at various events? Was the limited pro division idea delivered for public consumption before the whole thing was thoroughly thought out? (Sister teams, musical chairs rosters, etc) Maybe.
That must be why Dynasty in the last game of the prelims against Bushwackers [allegedly ] turned off their guns and took a 0 so they could, apparently, avoid a visit to Robbie.
As to the 17 teams plus Evil--who decided to coast this event or so it seems--comprising next year's Pro division. If I were a gambling man I'd lay money on that number proving to be, shall we say, somewhat flexible. No secret knowledge just my humble opinion.
Did someone say--conspiracy?Originally posted by Beaker
So now the conspiracy theorists can start on this one too...
The whole second team thing wasn't exactly a popular decision, however legal it was, so now that they have been DQ'd the NPPL don't have that "problem" anymore.
Baca... where are you when we need a cynic!
