Interesting

Several months ago someone posted some criticism of a tournament as a first post and the "moderators" jumped on it and said something about the posting.

I am suprised that this has gone unchecked.

The first posting does not warrant a reply, other than if you feel you can do better then do it!!! it is easy to criticise and then not even have the balls to put your name to it!! Enough said;)

To address the weather, whilst I can do a lot to organise the event I can't sort the weather out.

I along with Tracy and Emma paint set up three of the fields of Thursday they were bone dry - we had to hammer the pegs in as the ground was that hard. On Saturday Kellys trained at the site and it was dry the fields were excellent (if you doubt my work ask a Kelly) The amount of rain that feel on Saturday night and all day Sunday was vast, now maybe we could have made some provision for wet weather but I doubt if we could have made suffcient provision for so much rain. You will also have noted that the netting was increased in height in certain areas but again with the rain it made it sag.

The answer must be we stop playing in winter and make paintball a summer sport as if it is wet (and it was) some players complain, at Witton Castle it was dry all day but cold (players spent more time complaining about the cold than complimenting the facilities laid on) and incidentally just to complete the picture at Team Spirit last year the complaint was it was to HOT!!!!!.

I can't sort the weather out but I along with John Payne will take on board the other comments.

right guys,

The point about the bridges was meant to be taken as a light hearted joke, to get the point accross that we coulddo with something for the mud, I'll have to admit, all those on the team i went with said it made sliding and playing great,

The point about the netting was brought up for safety, as i remember virtually the same happening at STB last year, and the way i see it if somethings not done, its only a matter of time before someone gets hurt.

In terms of the points on marshalling, yes i'll agree it wasn't the best conditions, yes 90% of the marshalls did a fantastic job, but i still see some of the points that came up as in excusable.

lastly Russell, if trying to bring these points up so we can find out what happened so they don't crop up again, and so improves futer games, makes me a tosser, then fine, but can i ask why????

I know there will always be some rulings that go your way, and we can never rule out a bit of favoritsm. thats always going to happen.

Bully, I'm not having a go at you. Again as always i think you orgnised a great tourney, and i've no problems with anything you did,

in terms of doing better if i can, I've marshalled tourneys and played for many years, and i know some things come down to lack of experience, but some that came from experienced marshals just should not have happened.

I know that elsham is on a natural spring, and with the amount of rain we had it can turn bad in a few hours.

And lastly, i didn't put my name to it cuz i knew there wouldbe comments like those from russell, i'm just tryin to find out what did happen with some of the points i made.

>>>>I thought the mods where going to swoop on such posting from new tossers.

Um, what exactly is wrong with this guy's post?

And fellas, you see tha button marked 'Report post to a moderator'? Y'all can use gthat - cos when it gets used you can guarantee someone will take a look at the offending post. I received no such msg and having read it, I don't see a major problem with this post. Am I missing something?

Please guys, give us time to have a look, the post was put up around midnight yesterday. I have just switched on my computer. I have occasional other things to do besides posting on the internet.
Anyway, I do agree that the first post was offensive. Not so much because of it's contents, since it wasn't brought in a rude way, but because it seemed that an account had been made simply to post this. I am not a big fan of those, as a lot of you may know. If you have an opinion on an event, good or bad, feel free to let the organisers know, I'm sure most of them welcome criticism in order to be able to improve. But for God's sake, do it under your regular 'name', that way people might listen to you, instead of just getting pissed at you.

My 2 pence worth.

I don't see what all the fuss is about..

The weather was terrible, the mud horid, it was dirty and Cold.. But I loved every second of it.

Like Bully has said.. He can't control the weather.. it Rained all day and there was very little people can do about it.. We all live in the good old UK and we all know what the weather is like.. I would have thought we were all used to it.

As for the problems mentioned, I personally didn't see any marshalling problems, all the marshals did an excellent Job and they all get a thumbs up from me. It's a thankless Job and mistakes are made.. but there only human, no need to jump on peoples backs.

1 comment I'd like to make though is about the field rules. It seemed that the rules changed depending upon which field you were on..

One foot behind, all body behind, guns up, guns down, guns behind.. It's all very confusing.. Even rules at different ends of a field seemed to change.. if one team only needs a foot in and one team is told to be completely in then that equated to a large advantage for the first team. Maybe some Set rules that apply to ALL fields would be helpfull.

Other than that I thought it was an excellent day and I can't fault anyone.. I'd do it again if I could (maybe with an extra change of clothes though ;))

Even though it was muddy as hell i had a great day. The marshels were good and friendly. The only thing i would say was about the netting, I was stood watching a game and a ball flew over and hit me on the shoulder and there was people watching without masks on.

Apart from that though i had a right laugh
