If I were Smart Parts....

I would do EVERYTHING to stop them from playing NPPL! That would worsen the quality of NPPL AND would hurt Pure Promotions and through them WDP. They want to dominate and they want to kill off competition, by preventing Dynasty from playing NPPL they would estabilish PSP as The League To Play.

Think about it its logical

Sell outs? That's grossly disrespectful.

These guys have worked very hard for what they've achieved. Their success has inevitably led the top marker makers to Dynasty's doorsteps in competitive bids to get their markers in Dynasty's hands.

So where is the line drawn between being sellouts and being plain business-stupid?

Is it if they get offered 25% more or 50% more than what they had before? Twice as much?

I've never seen a cross on their tops or over the door of "Dynasty Manor" saying these guys run a charity operation.

These guys simply have earned the position they are in of being able to choose which deal is best.

i seriously doubt that dynasty would sign a deal that forbid them to play some series that they would get good rent money from!

and as steve pointed out earlier they plan to play 16 events next season and that would include the NPPL...

but as not knowing the spesifics we can only guess!

Nah, the Copenhagen Uglies is far better!:D

Dynasty would want to play as much as they can, even if SP had pushed for them not to play the NPPL i doubt that Dynasty would have accepted. Maybe SP accepted that in order for them to be able to get Dynasty on SP gear they had to concede and allow them to play the NPPL?

That's probably more like a bunch of rats leaving the sinkin' ship--but seriously, Strangelove, are you suggesting Dynasty was previously shootin' Angels just cus they loved WDP so much? Or that WDP wasn't paying them to use Angels in the past? Get a grip.

PS--about the sinkin' ship bit, it's a joke! Like much of the rest of this thread. Relax. :)

If Dynasty was accepting sponsorship from just about any other company in the world, I'd support them 100%. WDP doesn't own them (however, for the record, I think at least some of the Dynasty players started shooting angels before they became the fully WDP-backed superstars of today), and if they can find a better deal, then that's great for them. But personally, if I was on a team of that caliber, I wouldn't allow myself to be bought by a company managed by greedy, seady, dishonest businessmen like the fine people at SP. Hell, if they were in negotiation with M3 to start shooting Black Draguns I'd be happy for them, just not the *******s at Smart Parts.

And what is dishonest about SmartParts? That whole patent issue?

Hmmph, in any other business it is considered smart business practice to operate the way SP does. Just because it's paintball, we're supposed to be all nice and cuddly? Get real. Expect more things like this to happen as paintball grows. And not just from SP.

Another thing, I think that Dynasty wasn't happy with the WDP products as they are made at the moment (not saying they switched because of that reason though). After all, if they were so in awe of the Angel, they'd be shooting A4's and Speeds, but most of them shot IR3's, some of them still shot LCD's! All of them with the COPS (if present) replaced with an eye. That's gotta say something.

They will enforce their patent rights apparently...

On Expansion Chambers (their patent)
On HPA Air Systems (their patent)

and on a couple of other things (check the USPTO for their patents)

Oh and one nice thing in addition, they have the right for the name "Intimidator" in paintball....

Thats a big bubbling pot-o-**** ready to explode there guv :)

It looks like PB is becoming a regular ole business like any other , replete with its requisite greed and territory-grabbing, and coming out of the woods and back-woods mentality.

I don't know if I read it here or elsewhere, about one PB accessory manufacturer who shamelessly knocked off copies of others. At a then (mid-90s) major tournament an owner of a line of goods that had been copied found the bootlegger and a fist-fight ensued.

Like the rest of the business world, the fist-fighting will be conducted by stuffed suits in a court of law.

Progress!
