One point I just though of which I don't like about teams just playing in their own division.

If Pro's just played pro's what happens at smaller events where there aren't enough pro teams to make the prelims anything other than a joke?

With more thought, Pete's idea of keeping even numbers and all Pro teams playing the same number of other pro teams sounds good... but then you will be knocking someone's elses nose out of line, because one Am A team will play 2 pro's and another will only play 1 pro.

I'm not sure if there is a perfect solution available at the moment for all events is there?

Would it be a good or bad thing to differentiate how the schedule is done depending on how many pro teams attend? Like if there is enough pro teams where it is phenomenally important how many there are to qualifying (like in Toulouse) then they just play each other? But if there (like at one of the smaller events) are not enough pro teams for that to be a decent competition then the current system is in place?

Not sure there is an answer that is simple for all to understand and fair...

Duff,

I agree with you!

I thinks the thrill of playing at the event is enough. Watch and learn from the big guys. You learn very little in a 30 second whitewash.

I just got to convince the others.

I didnt realise that Am A teams were only sposed to play one pro team. In Portugal we played 2 pros and in germany and the Dam only one. This 'luck of the draw' phenomenon is good for the sport, and i think that being hard done by draw wise is swings and roundabouts. i.e you get a crap draw at one event, but at the next event your draw is favourable. Until teams complain that their draw is too easy why should anything be done when their draw is hard? Hmmm...why do i think that will never happen? ;)

Our draw in Tolouse is very hard, personally i am looking forward to the challenge of playing teams like the Ironmen, Evil and Paintballgateway. If we lose, we lose, If we win, i will be a hero! Just kidding, but i am still looking forward to playing them!:)

p.s Manike--> playing Toulouse? Diablo VIP?

p.p.s--> Niall, our game vs Dynasty in Amsterdam lasted around 5 minutes.....mind you, cant say i learnt that much watching the three lines of paint flying past my face for the whole game.....;)
Hows the move going?:)

I just got off the fone from Pete Martin and he assures me that the Tigers do in fact pay for their entrance fee.
I was actually told by a Millennium promoter that contras were done between promoters who held events and had teams.
This was obviously another load of bull and I think I will believe Pete in this case and aplogise if that part of my post was misleading in any way.

Warren, next time listen to Pete before you post and Simon after you posted ..............and chill or at least try to read the post properly.

You don't learn much, it's usually just a wasted game.
Teams should play one division up, and one division down only.

Maybe the EPA needs to hold a vote on this, to see what the players really want, instead of leaving it up to the Promoters.

From my personal experince, when i am not playing and i am watching games, i try to find the Pro vs Pro games. I don't really care about watching Dynasty play some Nobody team, but i really loved watching Joy play UglyDucklings in amsterdam, or Storm vs Joy (thought that one was going to be a foregone conclusion, boy was i wrong)

Give the players what they really want, a fair chance when playing, and good games to watch when they're not!

So What?

TJ are you saying this is proof we get special treatment, now i aint saying the draws are fair, but if 1 other person accuses us/tigers of cheating or special treatment i would advise they keep it to them selves becouse its made up bullsh$t and its really starting 2 pi$$ me off especially when its spurted from people that should know better. So make your point TJ or should i say Top Cat.

yeah! we are playing am b, and as great it would be to beat the russians(which is our pro-team in toulouse), the more obvious is it that they will wipe the floor with us. i would be happy if we would have one more amB or novice team in our group instead of them. i think the "one up and one down" is a good idea.

thought you might wanted to hear a voice from the lower ranks:D

Woz - drop a chill pill duder.

It appears to me that everyone in tha morning has got a tough time when compared to everyone in the afternoon - I think pretty much tha whole world would agree with that, no?

I don't think anyone gets special treatment - positive or negative -I think tha parameters which have been used are inadequate, and that has lead to an uneven draw.

It could just as easily have been Shockwave with a good draw and Tigers with tha group from hell - if tha situation remains unchanged that might well happen at Campaign - my point is that the process needs changing.

Now stop with tha burning martyr business dude - no-one on here has got a bad word to say about the Tigers.

I really don't see the problem here.....

Whoever made the draw is just following a bureaucratic bs system instead of common sense.....
Draws for events should always be made in the interests of competition, it really is as simple as that. There is no need to stick to narrow system when just a little flexibility can produce a fair, competitive draw.
In this case, there's lot's of world class teams attending, solution = pro vs pro, they beat the hell out of each other Fri/Sat, the best go through, thats competition.
At the next event there might be just a handfull of pro teams, use the seeding system or whatever it is to sort them out, the best will still go through.

There needs to be a past the post system where if the number of pro's attending gets too high, a pro vs pro div is formed in the interests of competition, fairness, COMMON SENSE, whatever you want to call it....

All it really takes is for someone to look at the team list and use their brain..
