There was some 'talk' about allowing WPS points (compliled relying on previous NPPL and Millennium tournaments) and when I called and asked Laurent yesterday about this, he told me he believed that this was the case and for me to check the rules.

I did, and guesss what ?
Nowhere to be seen, Rule 4.2 in no way mentions any provision for WPS ranking points to be used....funny that !

And as for the EPA gettin involved ?
Horse, gate, bolted..........

And the teams gettin stiffed now ?

What the hell?

[/B][/QUOTE]
Now, excuse me for thinking that the Millennium board may well not be too displeased with the schedule with the Ton Tons (Laurent), Tigers (Steve Baldwin) and Joy (Magued), all virtually assured of going through, we all want roughly the same chances.
Now unlike those three teams, we have got to pay our entrance fees for Toulouse, is it that unfair to expect the same chance of qualification as them ?

Pete,

What the hell are you talking about! I cannot believe you wrote that crap, we never have & never will receive or accept bribes, "special treatment" or anything of the sort. If we win its because we played well not because of Baldwin fixing things for us (if that's not what you meant i apologise, but it looks like a pop at us). Pete you must always remember that if you told everyone in paintball to jump of a cliff to improve there game, 50% would probably do it, that's how well respected you are, so please think before you write stuff like that because it could stick & hey why should we bitch about the draw remember Backlash we always got the sh$t end of the stick, you win some you lose some, that's just the way it is blame beard, blame the board but please don't accuse us of "special treatment" you know better!

P.s The team, the players pay all there entrees from are own pockets, nothing is subsidised we pay the lot every single time, in fact Nexus receive much much higher levels of sponsorship, somewhere along the lines of the top yanks so if anyone has a financial advantage its Nexus!

We (SPG Spirit) are in Novice division, seeded 38th. We are gonna be playing Friday afternoon & Saturday morning. And our order of play is; Joy Kids, Pulsion, Unreal, Aqua Trek, Devils P, Estrondo Azul, Nitro, Pheonix of Paris, La Punta, Spirit of Scalp.

Am I correct by my assumption that this is how it works? Sorry if i sound a bit dumb, but i cant be the only one confused by the big list of silly sounding teams that doesnt print very well :p

Or can I?

Hi Pete

Yes I am back. I am not making a big thing about coming back on the boards. I just felt I should let everyone know why I was away and that despite rumours to the contrary I do not have any axe to grind with P8. I was asked by Hilary to take a break 6 months ago because my health was suffering. To be frank life was getting all to stressful and I couldn’t NOT get involved particularly when it came to being the voice of the Millennium. In my position I have at times had to defend things which I have disagreed with but I have had to respect the Millennium boards decision and got on with it. A big problem with this is friendships were damaged.

I am glad I had the break. It has given me a chance to re-charge the batteries I now feel a lot better.

Pete you are the most stubborn bloke I know. I will not get in the situation when I am at loggerheads with you again. Life is too short and you seem to think I have a motive which quite simply I haven’t. .

As for the scheduling. We use the system that Beard has devised. He proposed to us that he did all of it none of us understand it and for the sake of his livliehood he keeps that information to himself. He schedules the NPPL events now as you know and does a fantastic job.

There is no way a member of the Mill board can influence the rankings/schedule. The first we know about it is when Beard posts it on the website. I mean have you seen Campaign Power and CP Red’s draw??

I am all for suggestions to make things better for everyone, but I believe that that is the fundamental problem when it comes to scheduling. How do you make it fair? There are more AM A and AM B teams than any other. If they play more than one Pro then that will be unfair to them.

I agreed with Nick and Goose last year about making Pros just play Pros. (It would solve the issue we have here) It brought it up at the Millennium board meeting and was shot down. Certain sectors felt that the main reason a lot of the teams actually played the Millennium Series was so they could have a crack at the big guys. So would they come if they couldn’t play the top teams. I reckon yes others reckon no. Can we have a poll here?? Personally I think Pros should only play Pros. I will push for this at the next meeting.

As for the EPA. Yes guys please get on board quick. I will help any way I can. This is one issue straight off.

Pete. I’ll get the first beer in Toulouse.

I don't think that washes: even the Am A teams only play one Pro - so a lot of teams play the Mill Series for one game?

Agreed. I think maybe in the past or early years this used to be the case. But now I don't think people attend such an event just for the chance of a crack at the big boys. Especially as you point out they only really get to play one Pro team now.

Yes a lot of them appreciate that chance and love it when they occasionally get an upset. But I don't think it is as important as it once was. And I no longer think it's really a good thing.

The Millennium events we now play at have come a long way. There is more that attracts the Am A, Am B and novice teams than there once was when we played in muddy cow pat ridden fields. They now come as much to watch the top pro's play (and I think get more from than that than actually playing them) as well as the whole spectacle and atmosphere of such large events.

It's time that if someone wants to take a crack at the pro's that they step up, pay their money and play in that division. Otherwise they go play 'Open' events where it would still be possible. In a series such as the Millennium I think it's coming of age and teams should just play within their own division.

Woz, I don't think Pete was inferring there were any bribes or unfair play in making the schedule. BIG DIFFERENCE to what you think he implied.
