Your point is well taken. I really need take a course in concise writing. It seems the more I write the less tendency there is for peeps to read it and/or the more what I say might come round to bite me in the ass. :)

Given that this was written by someone on the inside of the NXL, and someone who has championed tehe format and the league as a concept, that's a huge issue.
I think perhaps you are reading more into it than I intended (or I'm minimizing it because ... I don't know.) Anyway, do I think there are inequities of power within the league? Sure, but they aren't of such a nature as to compromise the whole enterprise. I don't see a re-scheduled game as a big deal as long as the other teams weren't coerced to alter their schedules as well and they weren't. Worrisome? Yeah, to a degree, but there are several issues that aren't formally enumerated as of yet in the NXL that will ultimately need to be addressed.
As to being inside the NXL. Yes and no. Part of a team in the NXL, yes. An insider, no. And that probably defines the distinction that does exist. The real question is does it impact what happens on the field and I don't believe it does. After all, Gary is a "cartel" member and that didn't help Legacy.
I will be interested to see how the incoming teams are integrated into the league this season and how those additions might alter some of the internal dynamics.

1. You've been got at...et tu Baca?:p

2. Phew, normal service resumed.

3. From what I understand, Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, Zoroaster and The Incredible Spaghetti Eating Monster couldn't have helped Legacy.

Possibly I was reading too much into it, yes,, but there are 3 or 4 references in your piece which, on top of Bob's recent comments, painted a picture that suggested you and he believed that some teams were more equal than others.

1--yep, they (didn't see 'um, couldn't identify 'um) slipped a fat envelope under the door loaded with non-sequential large denomination bills.

2--noticed the bills were all Monopoly money. :p
While I absolutely believe it's an issue I don't think it's having a direct, identifiable adverse effect on the actual competition--otherwise you'd all know it. :) Other "complications" like those that arise from owners being industry, partners, sponsors, etc. can all play a part but as it stands now the league works pretty well.

3--well, Jesus said to turn the other cheek, Buddha said winning and losing were the same and Mohammed said whack the Infidels but the HK kids couldn't figure out what an infidel was, and--you get the idea. Bottom line on Legacy was Gary or no Gary no favortism was ever in evidence.
Re: Bob. I don't know what Bob may know but I can see being frustrated in his position and I can see, believing that some teams are more equal than others, feeling like something must not be on the up and up. And that perception, even if totally unfounded, doesn't help the league which is another reason additional steps will become necessary in the future.

One thing I have learnt on these boards is the following, if Nick, SteveD, Waddidiz, Baca and Missy ever get involved in the same thread then the 'inverse proprtionality' rule can be applied :-

The more they talk, the less we know.....
The brighter the light the more apparent the surrounding darkness. :p
Although with Missy you could probably make a case ... ;)
