Don't get all hopeful of me, Baca. The "dear" part has all the emotional content of a typical opening greeting in a letter from your congressman. But seeing as how you're from Florida that might be giving it way too much latitude. :p

Last form letter my congressman sent began, "Hi, Ben. Mr. Dover, I'm here in Washington to help you."

it can be based on other 'event-based' sports;

marathon running, bicycle, etc.
None of these are run by partipant owned leagues - or similar systems.

Marathon running is governed by the International Atheletics Federation, which is the umbrella of a club/federation type system.

Bicycling (roadracing) - at least at Pro level, is operated entirely like paintball, where private concerns run events, that teams can then enter.... and several team owners run events which their own teams enter.... albeit not the biggest events, as they are a full time job in themselves.

But Steve

Your premise was that if ANY teams were excluded from ownership, it was wrong.... that is what I am responding to?

Do you seriously think every team in a league should own a piece?
