The past is the past - Look to the future!
Everybody is entitled to their opinion and people will always see a situation differently when it affects them directly. I was the field ultimate for field 3, and as it was said before, both teams shook hands and walked off together at the end of the game. I questioned what had happened at the end of the game with 2 of my marshals (Ken included) and the answer I got from both was the same. I do not believe that Zone gave any "extra love". The normal reaction for anybody who spots a runner is to get your gun blazing on them. If 3 people spot this runner then yes, you are gonna get 3 guns blazing on that one person. Unfortunate for that person but then you have to expect situations like this in the game we love so much!!! We have played the Zone guys many times before and I believe they really are a fair & honest bunch of guys. Respect to them, and the Impact guys. The situation was resolved and there were no hard feelings at the end of the game once tempers had settled.
The Swarm/Lightning game was an 'official split second cock-up' which was admitted at the time. At the end of the game, after all the objections we received, we attempted to put the 2 players back in and resume the game from that point. Obviously, with the points in the bag and the game called over, Swarm refused to take the game back to that 1-1 situation. As captain of AFGM, I would've done the same. However, if I were in Lightning's boots, again, I would've contested exactly the same as what they did. Fair enough, I agree the outcome of the game came in a fairly unauthordoxed fashion, and hopefully it will not happen again, but what we all need to do now is forget the past, look to the future and enjoy playing more ball.
I hope relations between ourselves (AFGM) and all 4 teams involved in these 'discrepancies' are not damaged in any way, and that we can continue to share the same mutual respect on & off the field that we always have.
