pbsmoker..fair enough yur players didnt understand...

Then maybe instead of denying everything and attacking a group of very experienced players and judges, you would have been better off saying "ok, sorry, our players were new and didnt understand the rules properly"........No harm done.....find an ice pack for your rage

Well, i guess that being the minority here, being a brand new team with brand new players to the sport, this is what to expect in british paintball. I have played here in britian for the last two years and have never seen such bullsh*t before, but whatever.
I find it apalling that you are accusing all british paintball of being biased against new teams  I watch paintball all round this country at all levels and I haven't seen any bias against newer teams. And I have also watched Sam reffing at Millenniums as well as minor events, and I can only describe his reffing as tough but fair, and totally unbiased in any way.

I don't know who was judging on one field on Sunday as I was only there for a couple of hours, but I do know that the field ultimates and the teams reffing at least 2 of the fields were highly experienced at all levels. Yes, they were tough and uncompromising with the rules, but that is what they are - rules, not guidelines.

L.J i think the point has been made by your great self that we have never played div 1 because we have never been good enough so eat sand
with the new players we have thanks to R.L. we will make our way into div 1
I played against Impact on Sunday and watched them play other teams and they played aggresive all day and deserved to win the division as I said to a couple of them after they picked up their trophy.
If you guys make Div1 then so be it but if not then we owe you a spanking!!!

Jason, i have not labelled you as cheats, and i doubt many others have either.

It was unfortunate that he two new players did not know the rules, and whether or not the player knew he was hit on the loader, he was. As such it is a 1-4-1. There are times when players are shot and they know, there are times when they dont know. As a judge it is hard to tell sometimes, but the rules do not distinguish. If you are hit on the loader and you are still playing it is a 1-4-1. Players may not like it, but it is the rule.

The other guy was hit, he knew he was hit, and he didnt call a paint check. Again, a simple 1-4-1. I really dont see how these can be argued.

I do not think that you guys as a team are cheaters based on those two instances. Neither player tried to wipe, and neither blatantly tried to deceive. It is unfortunate that the players did not know the rules being new to the sport. It is also unfortunate that the rules were for a 1-4-1 as well as -50 points. That was not something the judges decided upon.

As to the reason you guys left, it is none of my business, but you cannot blame people for thinking that it was because you were being childish in response to being penalised.

Peace.

p.s I think that the Campaign guys are the best refs i have ever seen, or judged with. Thanks guys, you made the day really easy

I played a few games at the D7's, and it was by far the best Judged event there this year. Field 1 was hard and fair they enforced the rules to the letter and like others have said "rules is rules". I wish every Judge reffed in that way.
Much better to have the rules enforced across the board consistantly, than to have them on a sliding scale depending on what level or "name" you are.

We played an Xball match this year where the German crew were told by the ultimate that you were allowed 4 fingers width of over hanging shirt above your battle pack.
Game on they were knee sliding in to check with fingers outstretched, if you had 5 fingers worth of jersey you were pulled and another team mate was in the sin bin!
We couldn't do anything about it as they had explained it before the match. The only consolation was that because they were doing the best job they could they were pulling guys on the other team too!

hi all,

anybody have any pictures from the 28th? Last time there were some put up on http://www.paintballphotos.co.uk/gallery/albums.php

...as for the marshalling I thought it was very good. We got 141'd in our second game after a stupid mistake but that's how it goes sometimes; I can't fault the marshalls for that decision, and for the other games i saw the standard was also very high.

Marshalling

I never was not implying that refs didnt make the right calls on that game, I was busy playing so i didnt see the marshals make their calls. I am sure that they made the right calls. I disagree about some of the comments made to me after the match and some comments and calls about another game--not ours on field one.
I am aware of the rules. I have been playing for 13+ years now, although some of the new rules that have come out are silly, others are important, i know that.
Sunday was an example of the marshalls actually following the rules to a T which is rare. Calling people out for hits on the end of a barrell, or on a piece of air hose that in my opinion couldnt be known from a hit or rub against a bunker. I understand how difficult it is to marshal because i have marshalled pan am series and NPPL affiliate events. However most marshalls show discrecion based on the situation dictating the call.
But is it ok to overlook some rules? Like wearing extra layers because its cold? I didnt see any marshals checking that.
Yes the marshalling was strict.

And liz, i wasnt meant to be the minority by being a new team, rather than all of us new to the England scene. We are not in the "circle" of people here, we dont know anyone yet and i feel because noone knows us they automatically assume we were a buch of cheats. It was offensive. Thats all i was implying.
