Actually the D7's rules are even better ;)

Here is the only rule I can find regarding obvious hits...

2. Continuing to fire his gun after knowingly receiving a hit from a paintball which has left a mark.
Penalty: Elimination of the player, application of a 1 for 1 and –50 points
Here it says having "knowingly" been hit...I would say that is very contraversial!

There is nothing about obvious hits...

This is also an adaption of the PA rule book - is that the same too?

There were two seperate incidents of players pulled for 141s.

The player we were going to pull for the 141 was already shot when the judge arrived to take his arm band so another player was selected.

The player who i pulled for a 141 blatently cheated. He was the player you sent to the center 50. If you are the team captain, you may want to discuss this further with him.

If you want to know exact details, PM me. If you want it on a public forum, then let me know, and i'll publish the details.

I was told that because you were penalised heavly you left the tournament, if this was not the case then i have been misinformed, and i retract what i said about your team leaving in protest.

I did not know about the -50 penalty points before we marshalled this event. I was aware of the Sosta rule in the PA Rules, (which is one of the worst rules i've ever encountered - completely unenforcable IMHO) and was happy to see 141 penaltys on the rule sheet. -50 points is a very strong deterant for playing on and wiping.

But here's the problem, at least in my opinion: playing on can be subjective. A player on a run thru, who gets shot after he muggs someone, is entitled to keep on playing. However, if the judge misses who shot who first, then the player can be judged as playing on. It's very easy to make a mistake with playing on. In handing out a 141 AND -50 penalty points a judge must be 100% sure that player is attempting to cheat. Getting hit on your loader twice, and a third hit on your mask for example, lowering your gun, examining the hits on your loader, then proceding to shoot half a hopper at the oppisition would be conisdered an attempt to cheat, just to give an example.

Anyhow, this is all pointless to debate, because i have heard in conversatioin that a better set of rules is going to be used next year, (thank goodness, the PA league rules are AWFUL!) and i'm sure Big Dave will fill you all in later on.

Thanks Matski and guys for marshalling with us on the weekend, we enjoyed ourselves, and thanks to all the teams who thanked us... it really makes us feel like it's worth trying our hardest!

Underated, i think you should drop this, but if you feel the need to discuss, please PM me.

I would like to point out that we would have one div 2 if i had not got -50 and a 141 in our first game .
And yes i did play on a tiny little bit (may be):D got shot on the break did not even look at it ran to my bunker shooting as you do and sam was waiting for me there to do the deed .
made me play clean all day.And yes we were sandbagging but 2 of our guys have not played for over 18 months.
We have had bad marshalls before this yeay but not this time all spot on...

anywayz, i and the others while in the dead box on RPS field noticed a rather LARGE hit on the guys elbow as he got the flag, we did point this out to the marshalls and they went and found this hit as he called the flag.
Actually, that was me............

The mark was huge...... must have been at least 4 inches in diameter..... and would have only been a mark from multiple hits. When the marshal pointed out to me that I had a mark on my arm, i protested the fact. Even to the point of raising my playing jersey (I only ever wear the permitted layers) and showing no mark on my skin whatsoever.........

He still insisted it was a hit, saying that 'sometimes they don't leave a mark'.....

Sometimes, you have to accept bad decisions, like I had to in that game.........

In order to effectively police a sport of this nature, it makes common sense that in order to avoid situations like this, then the bunkers HAVE to be cleaned after each game. This was not the case on this field.

I know it's a ****ty job. I would NOT do it. I have the upmost respect for people giving there time and effort to Judge events. Just not my cup of tea.

Cheated??? Please tell me you all are joking? No, we did not cheat and are offended at the remarks.
We had two 1 for 1's in the match. One was for one of our players felt a hit on his ribs, he raised his elbow up to check and saw nothing so he played on. The marshal stated that as he was checking he raised his arm up to where it looked like he called himself out. That player it was his very first tourney. The second one was for a player had a hit on his hopper, also his very first tourney and didnt know of the hit. That one i could have understood. But when they went to pull the players the marshalls had poor communication to eachother and started to pull players and realized they pulled too many and put one back.
We pulled out because the marshalling on field 3 and some on field 1 was just plain crap.
I dont care what you all say, we follow the rules and try to be the most sporting of all the teams. But when we get 1 for 1's that is the penalty, then we get docked 100 points on top of that??

whatever

no i was not joking. youre talk about a hit in the ribs and the player raising his arm to look at it, well...

there is not one person who cant see his own chest for christ sake. it was bang in the middle and he DID see it. i watched him flinch - look at it - turn sideways - and continue to shoot. the only joke was for you to say he didnt see it, was the size of a melon.

he wasnt pulled for looking at the hit by rasing his arm, he was pulled for cheating...and ill say it again

cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating cheating

there was a little mishap when the 2for1's were called simulatiously and it was confusing who was/ wasnt called out

tl;dr yar boo sucks to you:p

The fact that it was their first event was immaterial. A shot on the loader is in the rules a self check zone, as such it is a 1-4-1. You cant argue if it is inthe rules. the player who was hit in the ribs was obligated to call a check. The paint burst, he felt it, and tried to look. then played on. It was a 1-4-1. Those 2 1-4-1's were the two easiest in the whole of the day. You really cant argue them. There is no room for judgement in those two situations. We did not pull too many, and we did not put anyone back in. The two 1-4-1's took out 2 players as well as the two rightfully eliminated cheating players.

You pulled out because you got caught. Whether it is a team thing i do not know, nor do i care. We were on field, implementing the rules on every team, be they div 1 or 3. It made no difference. Being a first timer excuses poor play, but being a first timer does not excuse not reading the rules.

If you think the refing on my field (i was the ultimate) was crap then thats up to you. See the other posts from the many who were penalised, but accepted the decisions as fair good reffing, and got on with it. EVERYONE was reffed fairly, and equally. I have had a lot of experience judging this eyar, i was the ultimate on one of the fields in Toulouse, for the world cup, and Malaga, as well as many other MS events. The only bad thing about field 3 was it was damn cold all day!

Well, i guess that being the minority here, being a brand new team with brand new players to the sport, this is what to expect in british paintball. I have played here in britian for the last two years and have never seen such bullsh*t before, but whatever. Those two players who supposedly cheated, which by the way i will take their word for seeing as how they are so fresh to the sport and dont know wiping from run throughs. If they tell me that the didnt know they were hit then i will believe them. You guys cant tell me that you have played on with a hit on your hopper that you didnt know was there. I had that happen twice to me at sweden last year because i did not feel or see the hit. I got penalized for it and went on my way. Thats the game.
This team was just barely formed at the last part of last year, will all fresh players, then those players left and had to be re-built. For most of them this was thier first tourney and the rest it was their second. We as a team are offended as being labeled cheaters and poor sports. We left for a number of reasons and it shouldnt matter to any of you why.
And for all of you to jump to such conclusions about all of this can kiss my a$$

Jason Bryan

feel free to carry this on but we are finished with it.

dan0011, chill, your making yourself look like an arsehole, when your not, (i dont think). Rules get broken - people get penalised, thats the game.
we worked our arses off reffin, and to maitain the rules. (however crap they may be)
cheers for those who appreciated it.:), and respect to everyone who turned up. peace.
