The event get's better and better, big thanks to all involved and especially to Dave with a good common sense call as regards pads. Special thanks to Piper, Chris, Phil & Jiggy for lots of moral support for me whilst I was in the dead box.

Without turning it into a mutual love-in, just wanna say a big thanks to all the teams who played on the day. I think the team and myself thoroughly enjoyed the day, despite Piper spending an inordinate amount of time in the dead box ;)

I thought the standard of play was both high, but also generally very clean. Again an excellent well run event, finishing up near on time, and just round the corner from my gaff!!! Can't be missed. I'm sure that some of the "Leftovers" will be looking for a game at the next one.

On a slightly "cliquey" note, just wanna give a shout to Quake for bringing it to us in the last game, and especially the little toad who mugged me out the back corner. Twisty was simply too much of an opportunity not to take, and where you come from and where you went are still somewhat of mystery.

I certainly appreciate the difficulty of running and seeding the teams for such an event, especially when you have one off or scratch teams entering. I just wondered if mixed ability divisions would work at all, like in a Millennium - you enter as a set level but play mixed abilities? There certainly was a wide range of abilities out there, and you never really know which way a game's gonna go. It's only a question that you may have already debated, so ignore if I'm talking nonsense.

And on the floor ;)

On the mixed divisions, I think the way things are at the moment is a good thing as everyon is fighting for a monthly promotion / relegation slot. Adds a twist to the tourney :)

Also when you are looking at just 8 teams per division it could cause a few problems in "fairness". There could be one team that loses all its games in your division, but you end up being the team that doesn't play them because you play a Div 1 team instead.

This is obviousley the same as a millennium event but here you are talking a minimum of 20 teams to a div so its a bit of a calculated luck of the drawer ;)

Andy,

I think it's a very difficult situation from an organisational perspective and I think your probably more correct than I on this one, but with Teams using the event as a Millennium warm-up, it did have a bit of a "baby Millennium" feel to it. Fair enough, I'm absolutely cream crackered today so I may not be firing on all cylinders. Lack of sleep on Saturday night, being senile and playing all day has taken it's toll on my poor broken body (thanks Quake). And c'mon "bring a ringer" was a little unfair, especially as it was touch and go whether we had to chrono our Zimmer frames on field 2. ;)

It's a nice idea Glen, getting a domestic tournament to be as close to a Millennium event as possible would be great but I think there are other areas the D7's could work on first, namely field designs IMO.
