1--I still hate to see such a divide, and in spite of all good intentions of some people, I am certain it will not generate the same level of "intercontinental" view points that we get now.
2--Look at some of the other forums around, it'll be a classical case of can't see the woods for the trees.
3--And that would be acrying shame, because at the moment I feel that Tournament is really a good part of the forums to check out if you want to stay on point.
For purposes of the current crop of posters I don't disagree with ya, my gigantic Dutch bro, but pardon me for saying you are giving me the PSP defense. "Hey, works for me." The question is what can be done, if anything, to make the Forums MORE inviting to as wide a selection of 'ballers as possible. After all, that's certainly what the big R is looking for. P8ntballer should be a gateway to the magazine and an adjunct to regular readers--a bonus if you will for those who want to take advantage of it. In less than a year registered membership has more than doubled but is that fast or good enough? Maybe, maybe not.
1--No divide, it's just the more high-minded threads would be in "Speak" instead.
2--Not advocating a different forum for every marker or individual countries or regions. Just think there might be a better way to invite new folks in.
3--see response to number one and then you could justify more rigourous moderation in a "serious" pball forum.

For Steve--an internal combustion engine that doesn't use steam? What's the point? Steam works just fine. :p :D

Trying to give me some of my own medicine, huh? I'm just too lazy to have to click down to another layer. And besides that I like the idea that if I post anything that really has to do with the whole tourney schmeerkase, it will be viewed by all who are interested in any and all tourney matters.

Please don't dilute it. Pretty please.:)

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what's more inviting. I really think it'll just water Tourney down. I'm also missing how this will help 'Brains. Not picking at you, Paul, it's just you're going to have to hold my hand and walk me through this..... and buy me an ice cream.

But you guys ain't gettin' it. Some months ago the Tourney Forum was cleaned up and a lot of stuff was moved out to A,Q & C Forum and Speak. The squeals and howls were long and loud and guess what? In the space of a couple of weeks it all sorted itself out and people started posting where stuff belonged and started looking in the appropriate Forums. World didn't end.
Same will apply to any changes that might be made.

I don't see how that applies to what we're talking about. This isn't a matter of people posting things in the wrong forum, it's not a minor change of rules, it's (my view) a thinning of the ranks so to speak. Maybe I'm still not seeing what you are, or maybe you're just terribly wrong, wrong, wrong.;)

I'm still all for cleaning up 'Brains with a chit-chat, mindless-drivel forum... anyone?..... hello?

Got's to be light on your fingertips!
Ice cream? Fine but only one scoop and yes, you can have a waffle cone.

Here's the deal. Blunt and to the point. Clique-y group postings and heavy Brit posting dominance (that is ever so slowly diminishing) put visitors and non-regulars off getting involved. You get rid of the former by restricting the Forums they are allowed to carry on in. And you minimize the impact of the later by separating them to some degree in areas where they won't inhibit a real international base of contributors.
Reality is whenever somebody new takes a look around and sees predominately Brit postings they ain't sure the Forums are relevant to them or that they'll be welcome. And that's not the Brits fault and they shouldn't be deprived in any way but reasonable efforts ought to be made to welcome new peeps.
So combine some changes in mod philosophy, add a couple of Forums, post new rules and get on with it--or not. Like I said, I got's no power here to change anything--except of course the force of my wit and intelligence. :D
