hmmmm....

As a team we had no problems with the marshalls.

However i will say 1 thing about the Infiltrators vs Spirit of Scalp game on field 7.

Infiltrators got stitched up royally by either biased marshalling or the most bull**** call i saw all weekend. I won't say which i think it was but i have my own opinion.

Cheers

Certainly heard of a lot of dodgey calls, more so the field radios were constantly calling for the 3 ultimates to fields 5,6,7 whenever we were at a chrono station (I only assume this was for problems and not for teams to thank the ultimate for superb marshalling!) - in one instance when waiting to go on field 2, all 3 ultimates were asked to attend a field immediately!

Anyway - on a nicer note - I would like to give my personal thanks to Shockwave on field 2 - you guys (in my opinion) were the field of the tournament.

Not an easy field, loads of blind lanes being shot - but every game - Sam in particular made sure that the teams new just how harsh but fair you were going to be - Cheers Guys!

:D

ok, so give me some feedback what did you all think of the reffing at the campaign cup?

i was reffing with shockwave 3 on the tommohawk field (4) and i think it went pretty good. i did hear a few rumbleings from players saying that they had been screwed on other fields, but over all what did you think?

cheers

Played your field 3 times and was not perfect but proberly the best of the ones we played so props to you, I did not play at all fields 5 and 6 so no comment about them but as for the rest, All fields were lax on goggle safety but field 7 was pathetic in everything and if the team in question recieves any praise for this weekends work whoever gives it shoud have there head examined and can someone tell me what set of rules were being used ?.

More later but now i am going to bed.

marshalls

I think that as the tourney went on the marshalls got lazy. I was at field 8 and was screaming for a paint check on one player. NOT one marshall even bothered to move to check. After the game was over I asked if I could get even one paint check during a game and he stated NO!
Didnt have too many other problems on any of the other fields.
Well, first of all, and someone said it before in this thread, we are not obligated to check players EVERY SINGLE TIME A PERSON REQUESTS IT!!! If that were the case, we'd be constantly checking players the entire game. We missed a few here and there, and had some very hard to call double-muggings in the X's, but we're only human.

As the head marshall on Field 8, I thought my guys did a kick-a$$ job overall. I can't say we did everything perfectly, but we only had to call the ultimate once, and had only one game where a team started to get out of hand because they didn't understand the rules properly. And even when one of those players wanted to fight one of our guys over a call, we cooled it down and let it go. We ran on schedule both days, and only got behind on Saturday becuase we couldn't get teams to our field due to delays elsewhere.

And I would like to say a huge thank you to all the teams that played our field (well, almost all of them). Overall, the play was very clean, we didn't have to deal out anything greater than a 1-for-1, almost everyone conducted themselves like true sportsmen, and all of your thank you's and compliments did not go unnoticed.

See you next year.

****Props to Am B Team Wicked from SoCal, who held the title of 1st and 2nd fastest games of 36 seconds, and 1:26. Unbelieveable!

the splatch field was easily the best marshalling. the rps field was also very good. the fields round the back were a little dodgy although the tomahawk field i didn't have that much of a problem with. i think i saw some biased marshalling to be fair on the raven field when it came to french teams playing other nationalities.....just my 2p, could be completly wrong but when marshalls are wiping players with blatant hits after they have the flag

You are right, your not obligated to check someone every time a call is asked for, but you are obligated to do your job. I played that field 4 times, by the fourth time I played that field i was so fed up with the lack of movement, or even overall performance on your part, that is when I got upset.

The team I guested for never calls out or screams on the field for a paint check or any of the other distracting things that most other teams do. So to only hear one check during a game, I think that it wouldnt kill you to at least do that.

I must agree that field 2 was the best marshalled and most fun to play for me. Sam was harsh with everything but fair and he did not favor any one team over another. However we did not have any real problems on any field so a huge thanks to all the marshalls.

My only gripe was that only the Splatch field (2) checked what colour paint the teams were using.

On the Tomahawk field I got pulled just after game on for a small orange splat on the toe of my shoe. I went without issuse but found out the other team were shooting yellow.

It was just an unfourtunate incident but maybe a check on what paint the other team is using could stop these small incidents.

It did not really affect our standing in the ranks but if it had been a team a few points from the finals it could have been more of an issue.

Like i said though a great event with some good marshalling. You just want to play again :D

5 & 7

Field seven, the marshalls were hopeless. We had two bad calls on them that cost us two games. even one of the ultimates said he had had a lot of problems with that field!
Field five we had a call that was not "as per rules", where the flag should have been rehung.
May have just been me, but it seemed the foreign marshalls just couldn't give a monkeys about the U.K. teams.
Just my own personal perspective on things.
