Famine I've have to take issue with you.

Most productions made to date are filmed with static overhead cameras, on this had cameras getting in on the action. Multi Cameras. Out Takes.. What do you think the Extras are then?

You quote the money made from players to fund another disc ,this will never make enough money even to cover the cost of the production of the cover.

If there was no hope of getting this to the major distributors then there would be no point in making it. For your information the feedback has been really good from them. We expect to see it in the HIgh Street Stores after classification.

Simply every one I have spoken so far to likes this, you don't. You are totally entitled to your opinion. We can only put onto film what was actually recorded, I sat through 900 hours of complete film 99.9% is tedious..

Please have a refund and get off my case. You know where we are, send it back I'll send your money.

Finally.. I don't think I'll bother again...Come along with you camcorder next time and film the games then you'll get what you want.

Niall

PS Thanks Robbo .

I would just like to put kinda a double opinion across, maybe suggestions for the next one but praise for this one.

Like Famine said it seems to lack a little on what we were looking for BUT it is slick smooth and well presented (the best bit is still Rodney, I was laughing for hours!!!)

The features are aimed towards the people who may buy it from shops rather than the ballers who want to see loads of ground breaking moves and games.

With a point to your getting it to shops, That would be a great thing to do but you are still waiting for classification, well with all the swearing I heard it would be unsuprising if it was put at 18, possibly 15 but I would have to admit I don't expect that. Which then pushes the question of you are limiting your audience and who will buy it and who we can promote the sport to.

When people were talking b4 about the Wiping issue and there were some revelations I am sure I only saw 1 person do it very quickly I thought it was going to be a section called cheating/Wiping. Not so much a critism as just a little disappointed.

Overall It is great fun, I am pleased to have bought it and Niall and crew I am grateful for every hour you put into this it was a worth while venture. Don't not do another one, cause if people like things they stay quiet if they don;t they make a noise. how many have you sold how many want a refund????

If one was made in the future I think like famine said you might like to see 2 disks, one for the Who we are, how is this played, what a marker is, rules regulations and all the little bits like that. The history the growth etc, and disk 2 would be Campaign 2002(for example) and you see the games, and in an ideal world you would have like a football match a few cameras and different angles so you could see ground breaking moves etc.

The toulouse Video had the right idea but it needs development and this is the next phase. It costs money, granted, and it will take time to refine how these vids and dvds are made but these are a few suggestions.

I think Famiine was expressing how some ballers may feel. Kinda looking short term for the we play we wanna see some good action and maybe the occasional tounge.

But long term if this does make it to HMV etc. this is a great stepping stone for people to get into tourney ball and what we are about.

I really enjoyed the GZ vs Shockwave game but GZ vs Diablo Image was a little bit underplayed and could have been developed into the big game it was.

Overall I loved it but i agree a few glitches to iron out.

Full respect to Niall and crew.

Whoa Niall...

... feeling a little stressed out? Can't possibly understand why :) :) :)

I agree 100% with you & Robbo, personally I feel that this is one of the best videos ever made.

Famine, I am a player, would I like to see more of myself on the screen sure - but I would rather see a professional production such as this even more, something such as this opens up the game to so many others.

Try a little test, take an older tournament games only video, and this new DVD and give them both to your mother or grandmother (no I'm not kidding - 100% percent serious) and see which one they enjoy watching more.

Paintball in the mainstream, i.e. television, will never appeal to the non-playing public if it done as a tournament video as opposed to a highlight video. There is too much sitting & shooting in the games, not enough movement, and too many things to focus on.

Niall & his crew have made an investment in the future - just like he did by acquiring the Crystal Palace, remember 3 Cups ago it was still in the backyard of some farm - or it sure felt like it. If you are dissastified take Niall up on his money back offer, or you can open your mind to the possibilities that this DVD might bring, and come to the conclusion that this is one slick production.

One last thing, Niall, I think what Famine means by advertising something that wasn't there is - when a DVD is marketed as Multi-Angle, it means that you can physically change which camera angle you want to view the picture from by pressing a button on the remote. Usually, up to 3 different camera angles are available, of any one given scene. Now I have been told that this is very popular for such things as porn, but I have no first hand experience with this :D :D .

It would be a grey area to take this to trading standards, the argument would be

Multi-angle....More than one angle. Which this does have BUT like you mention in DVD terms so far it means press the buttons on the remote to see the same shot from a different view. KInda like on a film extras to see all the cameras that were filming.

Noooooooo! Niall, we want more and more DVDs.
I've been out of the office virtually every day since I got mine & my in-box there is piling up with people who want to have a look 'cause I showed one person & he's not stopped raving about it since.

Please, please, please stop thinking you aren't being appreciated 'cause you are very much.

Thankyou, my point being multi in the DVD sense, as it was originally advertised. (Very close on trading standards)

As for the point about giving it to my gran etc.
Yeah i agree, this would be great for them (Apart from all the swearing, Whats happening here? Promoting the sport to over 15's and under 55's?)
But could i see them walking into HMV and thinking , that looks nice, ill buy that.
It is a great tool for us the players to promote the sport with. But as a shop bought product i really cant see jo public picking it up in thier droves.

i am not the only person feeling let down a little by this production, Spoken with 4 seperate owners of the dvd and got the same 4 opinions as myself, without prompt.

I aint worried about sob stories, I think this DVD is groundbreaking. Just a shame it seems to have missed its target audience. Maybe a little more market research next time.

As for the mention of a refund, This is an entirely seperate issue that i think Nial would rather i didnt go into on an open forum.

I got mine this morning.
Sorry guys i feel dissapointed. i really don't rate it. when i watched it i felt like i was watching DVD extras but without a main feature. picture was good and sound was ok,general presentation good aswell. but i felt it just didn't go anywhere. and i'm kinda confused to who it's aimed at. certanly needs more games(3 just ain't enough) i guess if you were there its a good memento of the event but to others i recomend to watch it first coz its a bit expensive(in my opinion)

like Famine said "nice trailer, now wheres the real thing"(or words to that effect)

sorry guys, i look forward to this years...just put more games on it.

i really wanna see this thing...

Told ya this would happen Jamie.

Mr Niall, dont give up, we (every p'baller) need stuff like this, it's what we lack as a sport in general (I.e. today i flicked through the TV and found Curling on at lunch time - how on earth can that be considered intresting? or even a sport?).

But please bear in mind that all creations are critised, good praise and bad praise. The worse thing would be to take it personal.
