Whoa I thought you said they were going to be all regions? Man I am glad I waited to order! Bummer for good ol' Chip cause unless he has a region 2 DVD player he is S.O.L.!:(
Unfortunately Rooster, I have NTSC only. Therefore, my copy does not work. I am quite bummed, but Niall told me he would get my NTSC copy to me ASAP. He said he would personally handle it. I am still bummed:( :( I thought it was supoposed to be in multi-regional format as well.

Lot of things its supposed to be mate :(

Personally i cant find any multi angle bits, not too happy about that.

also feel with the amount of cameras there, there would have been a little more game footage and less tounge sticking out and general whooping.

Feel it lacks a little on the actual content front, Only 3 featured games (One of which ids quite frankly laughable), a bit about markers, a few ropey chicks dancing about and lots and lots of bits where people can go "Look thats me sticking my tounge out"

Sat and watched it and feel its more like a trailer for the real DVD that i was looking forward to recieving.

Honestly feel for £25 and 6 months wait it woulda contained a little more.

Oh well, feel free to flame the hell outa me. I aint on it pulling faces so really had little extra to offer.

Nice try Nial, hope to see what comes next.

DVD region protection...

For those who were asking about region locked DVD players before...

If you're wanting to play a DVD on your computer and you are unsure if the drive is region locked (RPC-1) either via a jumper or more likely via firmware, have a squiz at the Drive Region Info application at http://www.visualdomain.net . Pretty easy to use. Just run it and it tells you the model of DVD drive and if it is locked.

That's issue number one. Issue number two will be, is your DVD playing software region locked? Even if it is or isn't, I'd recommend a program called DVD Region Killer. Info can be found in German or English at http://www.elby.org .

If you're unfortunate enough to have a region locked drive, you might be able to remove this lock with a firmware upgrade from http://www.firmware.fr.st . Note, please read all the warnings before you consider doing this. If you have any questions, drop me an e-mail: peter@rtfm.co.nz

Famine, I have to disagree !!!!
Whilst paintball tries to find its feet as we plunge headlong into this new 'Extreme' era, as some people like to call it, the production of videos, DVD's etc is at present trying to keep up.
This DVD is about tournament play. not specifically about game after game.
It shows to the outside world what kind of characters inhabit our ranks, what it's like to play, the emotions players have to cope with, the razzamataaz and so on.
It's not and was never meant to be a definitive account of the tournament in terms of the games played.
This DVD is a vehicle for the promotion of our sport and I think it does this admirably.
Anybody outside of this sport watching the DVD is going to be impressed, of that there is no doubt, if you are looking to watch game after game after game, then you will be disappointed.
There is a long dollar investment going on here Famine, not a short dollar tournament report.
I thought the DVD was freakin awesome to watch as it validated all of us who play the new game and forever disassociated us from the wannabee paramilitaries, that other medias sometimes portray us.
Just my opinoin u understand !

Very valid point there robbo,

The question i would ask is where/what kinda distrubution to non players is planned and do they expect non players to fork out 30 quid? We gonna be seeing this in HMV and Virgin under the sports section>? I know a little about how these companies run and am sure they wouldnt touch it :(

Personally i think it is a great thing for non players, Just wondering how they are planning on getting it to them?

I feel many players will be disapointed with this DVD, With the amount of cameras there i feel more footage of play could have been added. Or even 2 DVDs, 1 for players (The one for sale)and the money made from this used to produce a second DVD marketed at the general public.

I would love to see 50% of the good plays that ended up on the cutting room floor.

Guess its gonna be good for loaning to non player friends and their mates.

Famine I've have to take issue with you.

Most productions made to date are filmed with static overhead cameras, on this had cameras getting in on the action. Multi Cameras. Out Takes.. What do you think the Extras are then?

You quote the money made from players to fund another disc ,this will never make enough money even to cover the cost of the production of the cover.

If there was no hope of getting this to the major distributors then there would be no point in making it. For your information the feedback has been really good from them. We expect to see it in the HIgh Street Stores after classification.

Simply every one I have spoken so far to likes this, you don't. You are totally entitled to your opinion. We can only put onto film what was actually recorded, I sat through 900 hours of complete film 99.9% is tedious..

Please have a refund and get off my case. You know where we are, send it back I'll send your money.

Finally.. I don't think I'll bother again...Come along with you camcorder next time and film the games then you'll get what you want.

Niall

PS Thanks Robbo .

Niall,

I have yet to see the dvd (For the life of me, I can't remember the site address to order them from, so please please please post it up..), so I can't comment on it.
But please, don't let the voice of one person put you off doing something that is good again.
In an earlier thread you said you came close to giving up the whole campaign thing, and now this. I understand your motives, and I know how you feel. Because of my line of work I deal with the reactions and opinions of people as well.
But take it from me, if one person moans and gripes, there are always vast numbers of people who enjoy what you offered them. The problem is that these people are content, and therefore do not feel the need to get off their hindquarters and express their opinion. So I'd say that you can rest assured in the knowledge that there are numerous people well pleased with your effort. Don't throw in the towel mate, a lot of people back you up!
Famine is ofcourse entitled to his opinion, but as is already evident on this board, a lot of people do not share his views.
From what I hear it's a great production. A number of people were not happy with the 2001 Toulouse world cup video, but I looked at it from a marketing point of view (my job), and I thought it was a good tool to sell paintball to the masses. From what I hear yours is way better (which is easy, since the other one is French :D ).

Keep your chin up. You have everything to be proud of, and every paintballer in the world owes you bigtime for getting the game into Crystal Palace. As TJ would say: You da man! :D
