Ta!

I have read all of the posts and, as a player, I would agree with some, but being that I was part of the crew I would also disagree so I'm going to sit on the fence and not give comments either way!

We cleared up so many of the issues from last year (air, security, distance to fields etc), but there are obviously going to be others that crop up, and you know that these will be sorted for next year.

I have worked the last four C Cups and have enjoyed all of them. It was great to see new and old faces and I had a great weekend.

Anyway, after having done set up/tourney/clear away I'm knackered! I don't want to see anymore netting for a long time...

campaign cup 2004

i think the main man is selling his e class amg55 estate due to the money made at this event ,points to follow
1, in the player area there were so many portaloos that we kept falling over them!
2,in the vendors area you did not have to walk more ten 10 feet to go to a portaloo!
3,the toilets at the back of the main x ball statium were cleaned at 6 am in the morning they were great, never running out of toliet roll
4,the on site cafe brills the best food in the land ,far better than last years cafes you no the ones with the noodles and chinese food, well what can i say!
5,i can honestly say that each year the event gets better?
6, will we ever have it up north in say a county show ground with good airport eccess and lots of good hotels at even better prices and not 10 miles to the event which takes you 2 hours to the site

Have just trawled through all this, as i have just got back from Vegas, and i want to say that a lot of this is close to my heart, as i know how much effort the CC crew put into the event. I was involved in the set up, and it was a tiring job!

To all those who complain that it was a glorified M25 because of a lack of atmosphere takew a look at yourselves. It is the crowds job to provide the atmosphere, so why didnt you? The focus was always going to be on the Xball, as it has in all the MS events this year where therehas been Xball. If you had attended any of these events you would know that. People would rather watch a load of world class teams (Legion, Joy, Philly, Trauma) play Xball than a load of chumps (compared to the world class teams) playing 7man. Thats the way it will be, and always has been. If you want to watch 7man, then nobody prevented you from doing so.

Also i have realised that many of the people complaingin were on teams who did not do anything of note at the event. Why complain in order to cover your own teams inadequacies?

Also, over a hundred and twenty teams at the event, and only a handful of people complain? I'd say that is a success. Congrats to Niall, Jim, Col, and all the CC04 crew.

To those who complained, vote with your feet, and dont bother to turn up next year, i know you wont be missed. But then you wont do that will you? I am willing to bet that you will all be back, complaining after next years event as well.

Gimps:rolleyes:

marshaling

cheers jason see u sunday
i must admit we didnt play this year because it was to much money for some of our guys and u cant play with only a couple of players, but guys u slag off the judges that have worked there bollocks of all weekend so u can play ball, as some one has already said u try marshall inexess of 150 games over 3 days and make the right dicition 100% of the time, yes i agree some may not have been up to it, but we cleaned our own bunkers after every game, we tried to make the calls clear and as we saw it, we showed no bias towards teams we knew, just ask doug from monkey love, and to this i think we have been spaired the miss givings of u lot, we marshalled the national field that was next to the sterling field, im proud of all my guys and we had a good feed back from alot of the players there, so come on lets give these guys some credit lets start hereing some good stuff, have any of u voted for marshalling team of the tourni i bet u didnt did u there is a prise for this. this may be a way of showing just some gratitude, ive been running a practice site for tourni players for 2 years now and players are always ready to tell u when something is crap but not so quick to say when something is working well. i must say ive got a nice bunch of lads and lases come up torni park essex, so i think myself lucky. but there are a lot of u out there that want something for nothing. to those of u that bitch and moan get off your arse and help those who work night and day to put on events for u,
any way thats my bit
good luk to all

Sam,

You didnt attent the event.
So how can you call the people that complained about certain parts of the event " gimps "? For all you know, if you had of played or spectated, you could be complaining also.

I appreciate that alot of time and effort has went into organising this event and I have stated this in a previous post but just because alot of time and effort have been put into an event, that doesn't mean it will turn out perfect.

I would just like to thank you on a doing great job marshalling on the National Field.
We noted that there isnt any friendly marshalls around these days, until we played on the national field.
Players appreciate marshalls being friendly, a simple " how are you today? " goes along way.
We got the friendly atmosphere from the national field marshalls.

So a big thank you to all the marshalls on the national field.

Sam,

What was Vegas like? How would you compare its set up to that of Campaign?

Btw, I have no gripes at all about the CC. I thought it was a great event with the usual hic-ups that are to be expected, no real big deal.

I'd just like to know how you can call people 'chumps' and 'gimps' just because they have an opinion. You may have been involved in the set-up but you were not in attendence during the running of the event and for all you know the 'chumps' that played 7-man may have had a valid case for criticism.

Again, I'd like to know how you would compare both events.

Cheers
Jimmy

play Xball than a load of chumps (compared to the world class teams) playing 7man.

Sam how many 7 man tournaments have you played does this make you a chump or gimp.

Sorry mate just think that was uncalled for.
7 man may not be your choice anymore but there are teams still out there that still prefer this to any other format and does not make them chumps or gimps and yes I was one of those that compared the CC to a M25 Tournament and lacking in atmosphere.

Due to CC being the highlight of British paintball and one of the most well known events within paintball you would expect the venue to be more prestigious than that of Esher rugby club and as I have quoted before when walking in it felt like a M25 tournament on steroids just slightly more beefy.

The reason I said lacking in atmosphere was because there was a huge lack of top teams this year I can understand that the CC crew had to move away from CP but I will say that venue did create the atmosphere warranted for such event.

Again I have said that the Campaign crew will have most of what people have complained about sorted for 2005 and I will put my hands together for Niall and the rest of the crew for the hard work and what they have done for British paintball in the many years they have been going and I look forward to the many more years of CC to come.

But I still have a right to my own personal views without being called a chump or gimp.

Rant over nothing personal.:)
