What was Vegas like? How would you compare its set up to that of Campaign?

I'd just like to know how you can call people 'chumps' and 'gimps' just because they have an opinion. You may have been involved in the set-up but you were not in attendence during the running of the event and for all you know the 'chumps' that played 7-man may have had a valid case for criticism.
I do not think that the way Vegas was set up was as good as the way CC was set up. The judging at times in Vegas was horrible, and there were several scheduling issues that were pretty poor. Our game against Joy was supposed to be played in the pitch black on the friday night. Neither of us wanted to play with so much at stake so we played saturday morning before the games started.

Vegas was an awesome event, but that was because the atmosphere in the NPPL is always good. However the atmosphere is down the to the players and the spectators. How can you not e having a great time when playing/watching the likes of Infamous, XSV, Arsenal, Avalanche, Dynasty, Entourage, Naughty Dogs etc.... A lack of atmosphere at CC is down to the spectators. Its the only thing that the organisers cannot supply. If there was no atmosphere then maybe it was because everyone was watching the Xball? Watching world class teams like Philly, Trauma, Legion and Joy? Who wants to watch div 1 teams play when you can watch these guys play X?

I did not mean that 7 man teams were chumps. I meant that compared to the players like Mishka, Spesh, Dearman, Dooder etc... even Div 1 players are considered poor. Who wants to watch a slow game played by players who are not as good as the awesome players playing train crash paintball in the Xball?

Heaven, you did not read what i wrote properly.

QUOTE MYSELF EARLIER "play Xball than a load of chumps (compared to the world class teams) playing 7man."

Read the bit in brackets. I did not call 7man players chumps. I have played 7man in Europe this year, as well as 3 NPPL's this season and I will be in Malaga and San Diego.

Heaven, did you play CC? Or just go and watch?

......ANY serious ballers would waste time doing X-Ball as a Nations Cup again.

You would end up with teams consisting of 2nd stringers and/or nations that are not really at the top of the pile.

The EXL SHOULD run again next year - and will, if the promoters are smart enough to find a way around the issues they have with it now.

Nick
But IF it runs, and if Joy, Tigers, Shockwave an Nexus qualify for NPPL, and Russkies join tha NXL, would tha EXL not be effectively largely made up of tha second string of Euro Pros anyway, cos ain't no way, no day, teams can afford to fully commit to NPPL and EXL - not financially, and not if they don't wanna get their ass handed to em.

Damn you TJ, exactgly what i was gonna point out.

Teams this year have already suffered by trying to master 2 different formats. Had Shock, Nexus, Joy and TonTon focused on the 7man aspect of paintball then i think that all 4 of us would be better placed than we are now with respect to next year.

And the security this year was very effective, not a single gun was stolen and players passes were checked before going into the players area.

Colin

I cant speak for the 7 man players area but I can for the X Ball arena;

Not once did we see security on the players area, not once.

To my knowledge NO players I.D's were checked either.

That aside, well done to the crew for everything else. I'd say it wasnt ideal but it WAS damned good with great parking. The toilets were way way better than Palace imho

And as the Open-X didn't draw too many teams in MS, it's back to 7-man I predict. Americans play NPPL, NXL and X-ball pro div. They may do some euro trips if they are in serious need of points or they can squeeze an 'once a season' eurotrip from their sponsors. Please prove me wrong

This may be an academic point but the Millennium Series is an organization that runs PB tournaments, some of which include 7-player and X Ball games and some of which only include 7-player games. We actually run three series: 7-player, Open X Ball and EXL. The EXL board is comprised of Millennium promoters.

It is true that when some people say "Millennium series" they often are referring to the 7-player series.

I work for Millennium and I have certain responsibilities for 7-player (judging) AND X Ball, since I am also the X Ball commissioner.

I don't know where you're going with this but I thought clarification was needed.
