I suspect there are more than just American players (like me) who only have DOT tanks.

I sent a letter this morning to Carleton, a major manufacturer that makes PB tanks with either DOT or HSE labels on them. I asked them if it would be possible for them to make tanks that have both DOT and Pi labels on them.

I hope it's not one of those situations where markets are divided up into regions like DVD players and DVDs:mad:.

Think of the ramifications of this. I fear American teams staying away from Europe in droves and vice versa, probably because of the concept of protected markets and/or narrow-minded bureaucrats.

Steve, it's a ridiculous situation, as they're the same bottles, just tested differently. Why you can't just get a dot bottle re-tested to hse or pi, i don't know. It's as if someone in america has pissed off someone in europe, and they're doing it out of spite.

Yep, it's probably something like that. The question I have is, is it in anybody's interest to have harmonization or tanks with all the labels on there? Maybe not, in which case we're backed against the wall.

I don't see many teams buying two sets of tanks. Whadda you think?

I would love a mail from the Millennium-series with some stright rules.

If i read the email or this posts all i get is:
You cant use DOT bottles.
But we will fill them for you.

I want:
You can use DOT.

Or:
You cant use DOT. ( but if the police comes you have to pay a fine )

Can i have that please.

And one more question.
Will the traders be alowed to sell DOT bottles?

Problem is that it's not the MS making the rules here, it's European/American policy makers which are ****ing everything up....

All the MS is telling H-PAC is allowed to fill DOT bottles as long as they are not over the expiration date, but officially you can't use them in Europe, if you get caught you have to pay the fine yourself.....

Well seems like a logical step for the MS organisation to say so.....

Since bottle (re)-testing takes about 6/8 weeks overhere in Holland, if someone would have DOT only bottles he would be having a big problem since Max Masters is next weekend.

I havent seen any PI tested bottles around in the shops overhere so that would be another problem then.

So just use the DOT bottles as long as they are tested, and get them tested as soon as possible.(and don't cry about it when you get fined)

We had this a while back in the UK about different marking and testing dates.

I got in contact with Eddie Sands from SCI, who makes the majority of our paintballing cylinders. He was really helpful and the information he supplied to me ended up changing the rules on the UKPSF website about such cylinders

As I understand it, the LAW in this country covers both the use and the filling of such cylinders.

Which, in laymans terms, means that any registered professional compressed air compnay filling a DOT bottle, would be breaking the LAW and may lead themselves open to all sorts of trouble.

That's just how I graspped it........ Maybe I'm wrong...

Nick,

Well i played MS last year and this is the first time i heard about it, but as any good European citizen you should try to keep up with all new laws & regulations which might have an impact on things you do in your life.

So yes we all should have known!!, well i am just happy to announce that all our bottles are tested and ready to go for BITBURG :)

I agree steve.

I think americans forced to buy new "EUROTRASH" bottles wont be the best welcome.
For quite a few years now, there have been bottles that have dual tests, dot and hse.
