Then thats when the refs should sort it oout!

I think the penalties still exist for bonus balling as they do for a lot of things its just whether or not the refs have the guts to call 'em.
IMO it only takes a couple of shots to mug someone, 5 at most with the adrenalin pumping even so I don't agree with deliberate head shots especially if you have time to aim!

1. Don't get mugged.
2. Give as good as you get. Hope that wasn't the last game of the day.
3. Practice play and tourney play are a little different. For example, in practice we get up when we feel an impact without calling for a check because we know we were sloppy. In a tourney, you get checked first unless you can see it. No room for overshooting in practice.
4. I raced BMX for 3 years and don't think it qualifies as an extreme sport. I was never scared out there. You can get injured, but the only serious injury I ever got occurred fooling around on my bike between motos, not in a race.
5. For people who play because of the danger and the pain, crank it up to 400 FPS and take off your goggles, but leave those of us who play for the challenge alone.;)

ok TJ, I mostly agree with what your saying, I don`t like it when people whinge about being shot, they have played before and they know what is involved, but if they get absolutley wasted when 1 or 2 will do that is a bit different.

oh tony, I have been shot in the knackers before, that dropped me for a couple of minutes !

Re T.J's comments

I was not whinging about getting bonus balled.

I asked for the boards opinion on whether they thought the situation was excessive. Some people think it was and you obviously don't. That's fine i got no problem with your opinion.

Don't however accuse me of whinging or whineing or being feeble or anyone else cus it lacks class.

Cheers

Hey when i mugg someone i shoot the first part of him/her and i fire bout 3-5 shots, if i have time ie closing the game down walking the last player down be poilite put them on his/her battlepack or gun,
Muggers get shot to sh8t 2 i have walked off the field with between 5-10 shots on my neck, back etc when people see someone mugging another player they go ballestic on the old trigger this results in getting plastered which is part of the game.

Paintball hurts>>>>>simple, overkill............hmmmm i know what i do wait for the next game and take out on the next team, use it as weapon to fire yourself up, same as a bad call etc

anyway thats my opinion

What I find funny is that when I talk about bonus balling happening, I get told to suck it up and it's part of the game.

However, when I get aggresive, and I tap a guy 3 times, a tournament player screams at me how I don't know anything about sportsmanship and ow it's totally BS that I'm torching peole at pointblank range.

**sigh** I think it's just that nobody respects a guy with a pump gun...

Hmmm..... Just watched a Traumahead video, and I now see what the vogue is on the Pro circuit........

Ironmen playing AA's, and one of the Ironmen moved down the right tape, he slowly and quietly walked round the outside of the cokecan, so the AA player couldn't hear him, and placed his barrel tip no more than 3 inches from the guy's exposed neck, and fired.....

Ouch.

Sorry folks, there's just no need for that........ :(

But I agree that is out of order not to mention bloody dangerous
But what gets me is that if you pelt past someone, and shoot them, the only shot the eliminated player has, is to your back. Now any marshal worth his salt is gonna be following your run, and can see you've been shot after you shot......
The incident in question was towards the end of a game, so I don't see any need for it!!

Oh, BTW, the Ironman player got pulled anyway, and the AA got put back in, as it seems he got shot while making his run, but carried on anyway..........

I usually get hold of most of the Trauma videos to feed my addiction, and the last couple I've seen have had one or two incidents of this nature. The 15 or so preceeding it haven't had one, I guess this is the way the sport is going, unfortunatly.

I guess if players didn't play on, muggers wouldn't feel the need to take such drastic actions.:(

It comes down to marshalling, they are not always best placed to spot things like that and sometimes they are crap at it. So the pro's (and increasingly Am and Nov) are bonus balling and mugging the neck or head to make sure they are not dead man walking or turning after being shot.
