I have to say that it can sometimes be accidental. I have been in a situation when I come out to shoot and see a player standing up behind his bunker and let off a couple of shots, only to find that the player is already out. In that situation I will always shout sorry to the player. So the same can happen all the time. Although if they are blatently bonus balling you and don't stop, turn round and shoot back.:D

Namin and shamin

I aint into naming and shaming people simply because if i wanted to i'd have raised the issue with the team involved on the day and not hide behind my sig on here hurling abuse.

I still respect the skill the team that did it possessed but not there attitude for doing it.

On another note the marshalls did raise it as excessive as the mugger had time to come round the barricade aiming high then readjust his aim to my back and then up again before shooting me alot in the head but there argument was the turn and spin theory. Fair enough cus i was in no position to turn after that.

I'm more pissed about the bonus balls as i walked off dripping paint.

Remember 10 hits in the space of about 5 seconds.

Cheers

Milhouse

Me......encourage cheating?..........Never! Just merely putting down what I have seen other players (normaly pros) do if they get bonus balled. Besides if I ever get bonus balled I can't be assed to turn around to see who it is if it is only one or two. I give them the benefit of doubt as it could be an accident like I have done. If it is blatent then I will say something to the nearest marshall.

Bonus Ballin' has become more prevelant because of dead man walks, you see some one walking and drop a couple onto him cos from 50 feet away you can't always see the paint hits. If you want to avoid the bonus balls put your marker in the air and RLF (or hide behind a marshall until they get the idea:D )

Paul--what does bonus ballin' and cheatin' have to do with each other?
I don't cheat I walk with the first hit and if mugged don't turn around, thus being bonus balled pisses me off, as in my case it does only take 1 hit to get me out!

It's uncalled for and dangerous. If some one gets hit by a string, fair enough. Chances are by the time you notice the first shot the others will hit before you've had a chance to react if the shooting is that good.

Hand/gun in the air, covered in paint, walking to the Dead Zone? NOT a target. Don't care if they have made a "bogus" call as a ref (everyone makes mistakes), it doesn't warrant 11-15 balls per second in the back of the spine.

"That's called logic. It'll help ya." (Hicks)

And we wonder why tempers get frayed on paintball fields . . .

Once upon a time (a month or two ago really) a couple of teams that didn't particularly like each other scheduled a practice. One of the teams was trying out some potential new guys. One of the new guys had been a ref at a recent major event and made a very costly (and apparently bogus--word) call against the other team in the semi's. The first game this new guy participated in one of the other team's players made it his business to shoot the guy out. He did so in the first 3 or 4 minutes of the game and as the new guy was walking off the field the player continued to hose him down. It was, in fact, so bad the player made three position moves as the new guy was walking off the field just so he could keep raining paint down on top of him. All told he unloaded at least half a hopper on the poor unfortunate.
However the best part was nobody, including the victim, on either team said anything about the incident the whole rest of the day as everyone, including the victim, knew exactly why it had happened. :)
See if that was me who got lit up with my hand in the air my reaction would be considerably less then sportsman like and would probably see me getting banned!

If its a string of shots fair play but not intentional bonus balling thats just unnessasary!

IMO!

I can honestly say I have only shot 1 person that I knew had been eliminated, this guy had been shot by another member of my team unknown to my self, I came out and snap shot the guy a coupla times, he remained on the field complaining that a member of my team had been eliminated (which he had not), as he was not leaving then I gave him a couple more to help him on his way.
Justified I think.

One thing though, if I am pinning a guy by throwing paint past his bunker I am not going to stop for someone to walk off the field behind him, he will just have to go past quickly and hope he don`t cop to many.
