I think the world of paintball has and will probably see more changes to the athletic abilities of players over the past few decades than any other sport.
years ago, when it as all about crawling through woods un- noticed where speed wasn't as necassary. then came smaller fields, shorter games, the pace needed to be taken up a notch, so small fast gits played up front with usually not as quick guys bringing up the rear.
then came open fields, hyperball, sup air etc, smaller fields less cover, needing yet more speed.
now as we move to the next stage, X Ball, where speed and explosive power are more important than probably ever before.
now anyone of any fitness could take part in any of the above, but again they'd be playing at their level, what we're noticing now are more and more of the top teams are built on young fast players, who don't just chuck the paint, but also use their speed to punch holes in the other team from the word go.
so do this mean, the less fit people will be pushed to the side, hell no, theirs always gonna be a place for those who show the right techniques, and have game.
so whats in store, survival of the fitest, fastest, and focused?? wait and see
