I don't see why they can't spend their money on the gear they want, even if they are new to the game/are not the best of players! and to Mario- very funny mate :p

I personally work to play, and almost every penny I have earned has been spent on playing

It's nice to have new gear every once in a while but I believe that you should stick to the kit that is best suited to you and that you feel most comfortable with.

OK, so I played paintball three times, loved it, was asked to join a team and went out to but my own kit..........bought an eclipse shocker and cocker (as a spare) should I have bought a spyder? just because I was starting out? I bought the best kit I could afford, simple as that. Ooooh no, don't buy a shiney new car, it's your first one, buy a second hand one, no a reliant robin, no a pushbike, actually just make car noises, come back when you've gained the experience.

Bollocks

Even in DIv D their are plenty of E-blades, we like shiney toys. IF you had the didposable income to buy a nice new marker, would you buy a crap one because you hadn't played long enough?
no

just sour grapes from people who can't afford better stuff.
Better gear does make your game better, it's just not as important as newer players think. But put five newbies with tipmanns against 5 with E-blades and what will happen? it's demoralising being outranged and outgunned by the opposition. Think about it.......you tweak your e-blade with armageddon air to a consistent 16 bps and 296 fps........no try it with a spyder on C02.
Buy what you want, stop all the snobbery and knocking the "noobs", it's the new players we need to get into paintball, and it's their money that the industry needs.

Just remember all this next time you see a newbie with a piranha get spanked by a B-div ringer with a 2 grand marker.

Maybe I should've said 'more cliques' :)
I told 'em I had a Bushmaster, and they let me in the door. I didnt' tell 'em it was made in the 80's and it uses a stick feeder.

Paintball is already divided enough, do we really need sub-cliques? Do we really need to go as far as "Anarchist reactionary running dog revisionists" for describing ourselves?

Blue in the face this time....

Barking up the wrong tree there I think...my point was that people automatically think that buying expensive gear makes them a good player.

For the umpteenth time, I've acknowledged that players can't progress until they've got good equipment- actually said it a few times now.

Sour grapes from people who can't afford better stuff? Who's that directed at? I started this thread, so I hope it's not at me.

Fair enough to people who want to go out and buy expensive gear- I'm not going to argue that anymore, as people explained why- and I've taken that in.

Got anything new to say then?

Is it beyond you to recognise when somebody can change their opinion? With reasoned debate and the points people have put to me in this thread, I've said that I've changed the way I think.

HOW MUCH CLEARER CAN IT BE??????

His point is he believes some people believe that buying and using badass kit will make them a badass player, which we al know it won't. He understands that ppl need the correct kit to improve but those that just can't improve coz there bollocks buy the kit to make them look badass (we all know they look like bumholes :D )
