All change...X into Europe

Whooooah!

Latest things TJ's been hearing...

Robo, Laurent, Sergei and Richmond had a long meeting about X-Ball and it looks possible that tha mighty X could hit Europe, alongside Milllennium events, for 8 top Euro Pro sides only, in 2003. Robo knows more than he's letting on but I can't make him spill all tha beans, despite threatening to give him a Chinese burn when I come over for tha Diablo Cup. Will it happen? Maybe...Robo, Sergei and Laurent are driving this thing I think.

NPPL 7-Man League is a go-er, but with WDP sponsoring it - they are not going with X-Ball as was previously mooted.

X-Ball US. Latest suggestion is that ALL PSP events will be X-Ball, but that the super top league will be not 8 but 10 teams, split into Eastern and Western Conferences. And if Euro happens then the 3rd will be tha Euro Conference. Other PSP teams will play X-Ball at PSP events - games lasting one hour total, each team plays two games a day for three days...but this could all change tonite. There is soooooooo much shiznit going on in tha background it's untrue...

Salm - Opinion is divided - for everyone who said he acted alone someone else swears that at least some of Lanche knew what was going on? The truth will out? I doubt it...What is sure is that JT, BE and WDP think Salm acted unilaterally and are sticking with tha team.

More as and when peoples...

Have a hard time with PSP events being all X but could be true. If so tho why did PSP buy out Ed and Richmond and regardless of limits placed on total game time that format would drastically limit the number of competing teams and would also blur the line (once again) between pro and am pball. None of those things seem to be what either the X-ballers or PSP want. Just a thought.

From all I've heard (Edit--before I cleared out my lugholes :D) only Robo and sponsors believe Salm acted alone. Guess we'll have to wait for the Oliver Stone movie version, Blond Ambition.

Apparently they think thery can run alot of teams...each team will play two hour-long matches a day, over 3 days. Big 10 Pros only play amongst themselves and any Euro X-Ballers if Euro Conference happens.

I heard Chad McClure is playing Salm...

And how many times in a year are these three day events going to be held?

I thought that the idea of X-Ball was to make paintball more accessible and exciting to the public and to make it more interesting to watch. From the accounts of games that have been played so far, the actual play IS more exciting BUT who is going to want to sit around for three days watching paintball? I have heard that baseball and American Football all drag on for hours but, three days? Pur-lease!:D

Think TV first, not spectators

Cos at tha moment there isn't enough money for California Dynasty to fly down to play a two-hour match with New York Extreme, then fly home again, you gotta have events that are cost-effective.

However, with the top 10 Pros being separate and keeping to, say, two fields, then spectators could go and buy a day ticket maybe and check out a couple of games, then go off for lunch and maybe come back to watch their favorite team play from 4pm - 6pm, or whatever...if tha schedule is announced ahead of time and you know that your team is playing two games on a day, one at 10am and one at 2pm, you could buy tickets and set yourself round that...

But as I said, that's all to come - first get the product televisable in tha right way...build it and they will come.

Maybe!

Fair enuf. You did indeed say that but I drew the impression from other things said that you tended toward the view I attributed to you. My apologies. :)

OK, look at the average PSP/NPPL event of from 2002. They had 100 10-man teams at $1750.00 a pop. No way they can handle anything like those numbers in X-ball format so are they gonna re-organize into an event format that drastically limits their income? Naw.
And what about the Ed/Richmond buy out?

You can manage it if you run 10 fields and therefore with no significant impact on income and as for the Ed/ Richmond buyout ?
They both wanted no more to do with PSP, it was an amicable settling of accounts and interests, I will say no more !
