fight for the right...

I do believe that the Tigers are the higher ranked UK team, both in the WPS and Millennium Series, and since they've already announced their name change, in PGI no less, i do believe they have legitimatly staked their claim to being a London Club.

However in Nexus challenged them, best two of three 7 man Millennium Rules for the name, they'd have to accept and defend their honor... ;)

I do believe that the EXL teams should be taking on City names NXL style.
Col, I do believe, though I am not 100% sure that after the reffing points have been deducted from the ranking points, we are above them.
Since it is only fair the reffing points are to be deducted, as the Millennium Board have already done to determine who is eligible to go into the league, it would seem to me to be alarmingly unfair and biased to just add the points back on to accommodate some unilateral name change.
If they wanna go and play under that name in the 7's, I got no problem with that but not with XBall.
If they are the best team in the UK, I would equally have no problem....but they ain't !
If they wanna go on count back in 2003, then I think we have played them 6 or 7 times now (inc training), they have won one game !
But according to Ronnie Hollington, we apparently cheated in every game we have played against them and in the games we didn't, we were just big-ass lucky

Leastwise that's what he seems to be telling everybody he meets

But Col, lemme know if I am wrong about the ranking points, I mean, I wouldn't wanna get all excited over nothing :)

Jay there's only one team coming from Amsterdam so don't be throwing our home city up for grabs.
You don't wanna risk a major GenX gangbang buddy :D :p

This "forced movement" at the end of the season thing...

I look at it the other way round. No longer can so called 'superteams' be formed. As teams that are new will have to start at the bottom and earn their stripes. Which is how it should be. This in turn will increase player loyalty to their teams, will increase the security of all teams, whether they are pro, Div 1,2, or 3. I think that this is a good thing.:) Good players will not play in Div 3 because there will be no credit associated with doing so.

costs?

What would happen if you did well as a team and got promoted to a higher division, are the entrance fees the same for all divisions? if not its a shame a team couldn't afford to progress, maybe I missed somethin'.

Rankings,...

Pete, i didn't factor out any marshalling points from scores, i just looked at the rankings on the Millennium Series Web site. The whole scores ranking thing is not an indicator of the quality of a team anyhow. You have to account for Nexus' play in the NPPL.
I don't

I still think the Tigers and Nexus should play off for the name though, i'd love to see it! Next proper tournament in the UK, i suggest that Nexus and Tigers play best of three for the name.
Nexus have nothing to lose except pride, and of course the name, and Tigers have to prove that they can actually beat Nexus more than once, to quiet the critics!

With the possiblility of three big UK super teams fighting it out for the title of UK's best team, i look forward to seeing some superior paintball this season in England.

But accordng to Ronnie Hollington, we can't beat them without cheating, so there's not much point really Col, I mean, I wouldn't wanna win the name unfairly mate now would I :)

Hold on a minute here......a thought has just flashed across my mind....I wonder if Ronnie could be wrong and every time we have beat them we were just the better team....nah, couldn't be could it ?
Coz if he was wrong, he would be on here aplogising for spreading that crap wouldn't he, I mean, there must be at least one molecule of honour in him.
We'll have to wait and see if Father Christmas brings him a pair of bollocks, a spine, a brain and some game.
