Sorry about the loss guys... Personally... When im at a tourny, i will never leave my gat on show on the table. I will always leave it lying in the top of my kit bag or put a jumper/top over it to cover it.

There will always be lame people like this in this world... and theres nuthin that we can really do about them (Apart from expensive security). If you think about it... How many times have you walked though a players area and seen gats lying everywhere with no one near them at all.

I think we should all start being more careful with are own and teams gear at venues... Your equipment is left at your own risk. Security is a excellent idea but theres alot of hassel. An all keep are eye's out for these pricks.

first of all sad to hear of the people markers taht are lost i will keep an eye out round my area just in case!

secondly the idea of "security guards" is a good one but what would they be guarding to guard the whole site, you would need alot of security guards,
an idea of having a players tent is a good one, before they arrive at site they even arrive at site they can write down what they have and get some form of I.D. such as a I.D card with a picture of player and marker on it, the tent could be in the center of the pitches, like all the fields would be set up attached to it, if that makes any sense, this would then create like an isle into and out of the tent so if some one was happen to walk out with a marker they would be easily spotted, my idea would be that all players and only players, keep all stuff in the marquee which would be monitored by 2-4 guards, keeping tabs on who and what comes and goes, but then my idea would involve no markers leaving the tent via the isle, i.e all players go straight onto the pitches from the marquees which in theroy if a marker leaves the tent then they should be stopped and interoggated so to speak etc. teams and players would only be aloud to leave with equipment when the guards are satisfied with the equipment with them is theres. and if someone has had something go missing then the lists they wrote would point out who is leaving with "extra" kit. maybe its a drastic idea but i see that it would work well, security guard wise it wouldnt ne hard to find a few trusted people with jobs that are in the police/security trade to help out, i for one would do it.

As i believe 2 markers were stole at this event..

I didn't hear about it till the guy came up to me and asked if i could get him a quote from planet for his insurance.

I think the tournament should have been stopped and every ones bagged should have been searched and cars....i know it would of taken a long time but if some thing like this keeps on happening then it wont but the dirty *******s off doing it again if they think they can get away with it ??????.

I personally think this is more to do with oppertunity rather than people planning to steal things, if anyone wanted to deliberately rob at tournaments there would be a **** load more than two markers going missing as there's expensive stuff lying everywhere.Apart from commonsense amongst ourselfs as to what we leave lying about we need detterents, logisticlly thats the only thing that will/can happen -I.E registration band/pass/card whatever ,so anyone without one can legitimately and politely be asked what they are doing with a marker, we're not going to get lockers (way too expensive and bulky and a nightmatre to move and you would need hundreds and attaching a marker to tables would be a mega pain in the arse and cost prohibitive and who's tables are they yadda yadda etc.

unfortunately its down to us in the end and thats the only solution I reckon any promoter/organiser is going to offer (none)

Maybe we should have an ID card system or wristband
and have written on that card or band, the type of marker the player uses, and you can only leave carrying that marker.
Have space for 2 incase you're using a backup marker
:( wouldn't work at the end of the day when people carry stuff away in bags but might stop people carrying stuff off during the day.

Paper wristbands like in the PA are cheap. Just the amount of time it would take to register.
Permanent cards for the season would be more expensive but you'd only have to register it once.
For every solution you have to look at the cost- security guards you'd have to pay at least more than 2 about £40 each or whatever, every masters, not cost effective, or even effective :(.

Dskize yeah we aren't going to get lockers at all, too expensive & no space.
I think the solution might be to bring your own locking equipment if you have a marker people might want to steal (or just use an 05 Speed, no worries ;))

There needs to be some sort of contingency plan for if this happens again, eg do you stop the tourney, or start searching people, or what?

and for goodness sake don't post it up please, this might have been a player so any solutions posted up they might read, and be able to get around them

Best thing to do is just keep an eye out for eveyone not just yourself, & think how nice some people are

When we played Lincoln last month, a guy who had his kit on the table next to us, left a phone, wallet and keys in his kit bag.
The thing is, he didn't bother zipping the bag up. It was left open and everything was in plain sight, so I zipped it up. Guys, don't invite theft.

Yesterday was a top day, it's a shame some "TWAT" spoilt it.

Hope you get your stuff back guys.

All the best,

Simon

well i think some people would volunteer as security guards for the price of the travel fees, which for most people isnt alot,
on the subject of keeping markers safe everyone knows that markers are expensive yet at the last masters at wicksteed park i walked around and watched before buying my ion off bailey(its great thanks bailey), i did notice alot of guns lying around with no obvious owners or even people even close to them so really it should be down to the players/owners to look after there kit!

Security gaurds would be pretty useless unless they knew who's gat belonged to who. It would also be a pain in the arse if you sent your mate to get something and 10 gaurds piled on top of them cos they thought they were theiving.

Reckon players only area with a bit of cctv would be the best bet as it would narrow the chance of something being nicked down, would lower the amount of suspects and would also mean that we could check the tapes and hopefully stop the theiving barstards.

but again no chance we're talking about regional tourneys, no way are you gonna get cctv put in uttoxeter, maybe in bittburgh or campaign or something. The cost is inhibitive -you need a cheap solution or the answer is probably going to be look after your stuff more carefully.

The old saying goes "opportunity maketh the thief".
Many honest people have fallen prey to blatant temptation. People have to take responsibility for leaving high value items lying around unguarded around a bunch of people they do not know. Paintball is no different to every other scenario you have to protect yourself and your property in.

i didnt even get a sniff or hint that a marker has been stolen, and nor did any of eric's team that i was playing in for.

i dont get why noone spread the news like mad!?
if it was my marker i would be round ot every teams table telling them to keep an eye out, or go to the main stand and get it announced on loud speaker.

were a pretty small and close comunity, so what the hell is going on guys?!

next time this happens check the hedges and sh!t, i get the feeling that whoever stole it may not want it on them, so rather than keepign it with them, stik it in a hedge to collect later. ye get me?

You know who you are you sh!t-house!
