2 more gats stolen at the masters

Deker

#16 Official UK Gunwhore
yep the Ego was mine :(

05 Black Ego with dust gold accent kit
Trinity Feedneck (dust gold with black clamp)
Star Frame (with tadao screen filter)
Tadao board with amber lights
dust gold 15 degree FRM
Freak back with matching Gold Anno All American Tip.
Black hybrid rammer cap
Delrin bolt pin

It was taken from the white tent that was near the trade stands just after lunch time, its was all set up and being used by a team mate who left it on his marker stand for a few minutes while he wasn't there so watch what kit you leave on display guys so your stuff isn't next.

Would like to thank everyone who helped look for it, I was really hoping there'd been some kind of mistake as we all have hundreds of pounds worth of kit that we now have to worry about while we're out playing.

Markie I think you're right bud, there's no way joe public could have walked in there and picked up kit without being seen, it must have been a baller or someone who was dressed like one, nobody would think twice about a baller walking to a table and picking up a gun but I'd think most of us would notice joe public doing it.

There were a number of people who were there, who weren't watching, and who weren't pod biatching or anything like that, just hanging around.
Maybe we could have a system where you have to sign in at the gate or something when you come on the site, show ID etc
as it stands we have no way at all of knowing who was on the site, apart from players on roster lists

what about having a set up area that only team players and guests who have come with a team can go into

I bet it was a player, like you said a player with an ego isn't unusual, but someone not dressed to play carrying a marker is unusual, definitely stand out more & be noticed

Have you got the police involved?
Good luck

and I think the theft thing is not confined to the masters, stuff has been going missing from woodsball sites and tourneys alike, so no one stop playing the Masters because of this, wouldn't like to see them win. just be more vigilant

Sorry to hear about more marker thefts - hope you get them returned asap

Note to the owner of the Silver Golf TDI that parked across the back of mine during the day.
NEXT TIME YOU WALK AWAY FROM YOUR CAR MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LEAVE YOUR DRIVERS DOOR WIDE OPEN.
Went back to my car in afternoon to work some magic on one of my team's markers and none of you came anywhere near your car for at least 20 mins.
Please look after your property better

And yes I closed your door for you :D

you mean a bit like what the PA has had for the last 2 years? where you have to show your ID before you can leave the safe area if you're carrying kit?

maybe time for other tournaments to do the same....

As system that also doesn't work properly, we had a bag stolen there last year!
What makes this bad is that as long as you have an i.d. you can leave with ANY kit!

That's true about the PA - anyone with an ID card can indeed pick up anything and leave with it. Although, to be fair, it was a start in the right direction.

Other than signing stuff in and out - there's no real way to police events. So many people in such a small area - it's a thieves paradise (a bit like a shopping centre at Christmas).

Security guards are not the answer - as most shopping centres have these already. They may act as a deterrent for the 'casual' thief - but if someone wants to nick something - they will!

They only real way I can see is to have some sort of lockable 'locker' - where you can leave your kit (like the swimming baths have). If you don't put stuff in your locker - then it's your fault (harsh - but realistic).

Maybe it's about time to re-think some sort of international registration scheme (as has been suggested numerous times before) - where the serial number of markers and their owners/guardians can be kept on record. Then it is a simple process to check if that shiny looking piece of metal you are being offered is stolen or not.

My original offer (made last year or so with Bully/UKPSF and others) as to setting some sort of scheme up (I could even make it web based) still stands.

Let me know what you think guys (and gals). If there is enough interest, then I will start building something this week.

Hmm,

Seems that whoever did this has a thing for egos, might be worth keeping an eye out for a mixture of the parts. (If its a player then they would know how to and that it is more likely that the resultant mixtures would be harder to recognise)

Cheers

I do hope that you will get your gear back man.

As said before, if someone wants something bad enough, they'll have it but what could be done is to make it more difficult for the scum than just walking up to a table and away you go with several hundreds of pounds worth of gear.

If a plastic coated cable was secured to one end of the table and then fed through the markers trigger guard and locked at the other end of the table.........a pain in the arse but needed!

We always work from our cars now.

Good luck
