I've now seen the article, and the final line is a quote from the mother something along the lines of (not exact, cos I don't remember things exactly at this time on a Friday night! )
"They [the guns] some with goggles, but the kids don't bother to wear them"
Personally (and I know that cos of paintball I have more safety awareness but still) I'd have been making sure my kids followed all safety recommendations - I mean, imagine a parent letting a 10 year old in a go-karting race, and not bothering about whether or not the kid wears a helmet.
However, lets all hope the kids eyesight is saved, and lets get something positive out of this.
Self-regulation before regulation is imposed upon us.
