Here are some hard and fast rules about Nicholas Cage films....

If he is wearing a wig, it's a s**t film.

If it's not 8MM, it's a s**t film.

Nicolas cage is a difficult one.

Did I love him in face-off - sure.
Was that the last decent film he was in - I think so.

Should someones career be allowed to go from '8MM' to 'Ghost Rider' - no way!
Should he have done those godawful National Treasure films - Hell no! He should have gone after the Indiana Jones franchise.
Has he lost all credibility? - For me, yes, the second his head burst into fire.

I think its a case of a guy being given bad advice, and making the wrong decisions.
Hell, I love action Movies, but I can't watch Bangkok Dangerous, because I already know it will be crap. He has no place in action movies - thats for sure.

The main problem I have with Cage as an Action Hero, is that I feel I can 'take him'.
I like my action star to be someone like Jet Li, where I know for a fact that if I got into a fight with him, he would utterly destroy me.

Same goes for Van Damme - I reckon I could get past all that ballet shxt and put the ugly belgian bastxrd down for good (and do everyone a favor). Only problem is I would then have his twin brother to contend with....

....maybe I could hire Jackie Chan, and HIS identical twin, to back me up in case the 2nd Van Damme comes after me in some kind of 'out for vengeance type of situation.

I quite enjoyed the irony of the remake of The Wicker Man. Nicholas Cage who should have left well alone plays a character who also should have left well alone.

Buddha 3

Hamfist McPunchalot
Cage was good in Lord of War. But then again, that wasn't an action flick.

I never understood why they so often gave characters played by Jean-Claude and Ah-nuld English names. C'mon, with those accents?

"I am John Matrix, get down!"
"No dude, your name is Wilhelm von Schnitzelbunk."

wtf was that bear costume all about

worst film ever
The best action heroes are all old now, and strangely the young stars just can't hack it.
The Transformers/Eagle-eye kid - not tough enough
Orlando Bloom - You can try mate, but cutting it you're not.
Jake Gillenhall - Don't make me laugh
Toby Maguire - Cough - wimp - cough
Russ Crowe - comes accross as an *******, even when he's not supposed to.

Is there a solid tough-guy action hero under 40 these days, and if so, who is it?

OH - Daniel Craig - he'll count for one.

Perhaps the steroid-friendly days of the late 80's produced all the mucle-bound heroes we're likely to see?
