Tom, what makes you think that you need sponsors to make a tourny work? What makes you think you need spectators to make a tourny work?
If the answer is a tournament set up that sits somewhere in between the supair paint fest and the punter site woodsball, then what makes you think any of your problems are actually problems. The teams that would play these events dont care about recognition, the events will be cheap enough (i hope) that sponsorship is just a bonus and this will help foster an environment where those that want to turn up and play for fun and/or want to progress will be able to make that choice.
The temple used to run a woodsball tourny series along side the supair and it was just as successful and allowed new teams (of which we had a few) to progress and make the journy over to supair as and when they felt like it. Others just chose to dip into each, but stick predominantly with the woods.
How many southern teams had their basis in the Dormansland Skirmish mixed ball series where we got to play supair and woods??
