i agree, 7 man and xball and 5 man at the same event would make it pleasing for the spectator. but what about those who want to play 7 man and xball? it just doesnt fly i just think if its one BIG National league, rotating venue. different dates and then youve got a winner. but which "money grabbing" event organiser would be willing to put their hand in first?

that way the ball moves around the country from north to south east coast and west coast. the formats people love, at the best locations on offer. thus PLEASING the customer, THE SPECTATOR and the EVENT ORGANISER. im not a big shot in the balling world but i dont live on these forums like these hotshot kids you more experienced guys moan about. Id hope that would make my opinion matter.

Because whilst you were off relaxing, last year I was playing the masters 7 man and was one of the few that wanted it to remain but were out voted by the guys who wanted x-ball lite.

its just not aggressive enough for me, in xball, you can get shot, then go back on 2 mins later and get some revenge, so in my opinion 7 man ftl, xball ftw
i can understand why people do want to play it though, and i sure as hell would not say no to playing nppl

good post sick. and we keep going around the issue of organisers. i would love it if the uk was all under one hat. multiple formats. well organised and dated out across the country. this would also help teams sort there **** out and get the uk sorted

We have less organisers than 3-4 years ago and less events too
5 man is the biggest format played now as opposed to 7 man 3-4 years ago

As much as I truly believe that Xball (not lite) is the best one to play as a player I would have no objection to running a division of seven man.

But if you think it should be offered for the future of UK paintball I seriously fail to understand how anyone can come to that supposition.

The only major league offering and promoting the format is the NPPL and as good as they are less than half a dozen British teams play their events each year and all of them do it for the experience and do not expect to get past the initial stages of the event.

The Millennium Series is considered to be the pinnacle of Euro ball and that offers five man paintball in one guise or other and the consequence of format offered by them will always dictate the so called future of British/European paintball.

If they decided to align themselves with the NPPL they would ditch the five man game and embrace a seven man format and at that point and only at that point would teams need to play a predominately seven man game.

maybe thats the problem russ, that teams don't actually want to try any harder at the NPPL level, but lets face it, who can afford to play NPPL every other month? Exactly, so we need to have the choice locally, thats all i'm saying. I found the PA in 2006 some of the best games i've ever played, but I also enjoyed playing Fightclub and x-ball in general. I'm not saying get rid of all formats, i'm just saying we need to give a little more choice.

As you say, it shouldn't be too much trouble running a 7man open tourney alongside your PA (i'm not sure about this year though, maybe a showcase event or cup could be better), specially as their are only a 4 events. Might be an idea, lets see where this all takes us, and stay chirpy people, we all got in to paintball for the fun remember
