Anyone who comes to my site will know that isn't the reason I opened my site. I love paintball I would play it day in day out given the chance and I want to show people the fun you can have doing it.

My marshals don't come to work to get paid they come because they love paintball. A group of friends / players all decided to open a site and run it so they could paintball and train when they wanted. We opened to the public to cover the costs of running the site and it built up from there.

At the site we encourage people to come along and get more involved and run it like a club. People can be involved from building the site upto playing for the site teams. All we ask is people are safe and have fun and not take things to seriously .

To all the younger marshals at our site and others you might not like to hear this but i'm going to say it.............I would marshal for FREE

I work 12 hours a day minimum (72 hours + on some weeks) in a Smokey Factory with moody depressed old Farts!
Its like GODS waiting room.
To have the banter and laughs we have and the running round in the woods breathing fresh air is a great change.

Without sounding old 'you kids don't know how easy you got it'!!

LOOSE

If you can manage to make a living out of something you enjoy and run it as a successful business then that's great. I have no doubt, Shadlad, that people coming to your site have good time and benefit from your love for the game. But do you have any plans to expand and grow your business? If you had say 20 sites and wanted to attract 8-10+k players a week how would you do so without using proven marketing techniques? You'll also need staff for all of your sites, possibly another 1000 staff..and staff will come and go and need training and monitoring etc. Now it becomes harder to keep that close-knit 'family' feel. You may still run your business for the love of the game but will each of your 1000 staff also have your passion? Unfortunately that's the way business is. The bigger a business gets the more it loses touch with the origins of it's foundation. Incidentally, DF is still headed by a 'retired' paintballer and has many tourney players working for them. Many of them have a passion for the game, inc me, funnily enough..

As for my comments being bollocks, i have tried to explain what happened in Norwich but it's obviously falling on deaf ears. This was an inexperienced seller who shouldn't have been there and the person responsible for allowing him there was fired. Training didn't come into it because he wasn;t an IPG employee. This is what i have been told first hand by IPG, it's not forum gossipmongering. Everyone who wanted refunds got refunds (incidentally, anyone buying a book of tickets has a 7-day cool off period in which to change their mind and a full refund will be issued if they decide not to keep the tickets). We accept the ticket sellers are not infallable but we do have a process whereby people who are dissatisfied with the tickets can get their money back or if they have encountered another problem but still want to use the tickets we often give them some free paintballs to compensate. We're not the ogres you are trying to make out we are. the person who contacted me on here recently 'K-TOD' is now happily booked in at the site/day of her choice and has 800 free paintballs (saving of £42) as a 'sorry for the inconvenience'. Her problem was that her popup blocker was not allowing her to book on the IPG site.
Anyhow. I think i'm going to leave this thread now as i think i've answered all valid questions. It's just dragging on now and getting repetitive, which makes boring reading.
Happy New Year to all. Gups :)

Yeah

all the bad things people know, or think they know about delta farce are not their problem, and its not their fault. It someone else's. why cant you all see that? all the running problem are someone else's fault, not theirs, it wasnt them, it was him (points finger excessively)

All well and good, but I was in the new Norwich mall last saturday, and they've moved to there now. The guy told me that the Combat Paintball site near Thetford was going to be bought by Delta Force and was trying his hardest to shove 8 tickets down my throat. It's understandable if it happened once and was dealt with, but these guy's have been about for over a year now, doing the same thing.

OK, i wasn't going to participate further, but the last post is interesting. IPG do sell for a non-DF site near Norwich, and this one is on their tickets described as an 'IPG associate centre'. The tickets make it clear that it is not operated by DF. I know we are looking for land in the Norwich area and have been keeping an ear out since we opted out of the one which Skirmish took on. I don't know of any plans for DF to take over the Combat site however. I can make enquiries on Tuesday and find out. If there are no plans i will make a complaint to the IPG sellers manager for that area about them. I don't suppose you got/can get a name when you see them next? Thanks for the heads up on that one tho.

PS Has anyone else noticed that although i last posted on here on 31/12 this thread been bumped up the Rec Ball list daily, presumably by the mods, claiming that i have posted on 2/1, 3/1, 4/1 and now 5/1, when there have in fact been no new posts by me or anyone else? And before you claim i'm paranoid, at the time of posting no other thread has been bumped up in this way. Seems that someone out there just doesn't want to let this one slip away???

PPS when the site developers come back from an extended xmas break i'll follow Norwich up.

why was this post even made!

can someone please answer this, why does this this thread exist and post like this? is it to humiliate a ''certain rental site''. in my view whats the point, i've read on this post and heard from different people '' why isnt u.k paintball as big as the u.s paintball'' and why isnt the u.k paintball industry growing?'' ist's simple and its becuase you guys won't let it! whyall this bitching, why all this hatred? who really cares which is the worst paintball site OR who pulls in the most punters/profit! As the owners of some of the best/most popular paintball organisation's in the u.k, i personally think instead of bitching and bringing each other down, you all should try to work together or atleast try and help the u.k paintball scene to grow!

p.s gup's u fought well, and i have great respect for you:D , for not just your talent but for putting up alot of sh!t and backing your corner well, especially as your on your own against sooooo many. (is that bullying;) ?
