Really? i'm surprised at that.

Hellraiser - there is prejudice against certain markers. Thats pretty much a fact. It's likely not intended, but most people see a timmy (which has been perfectly set up, or any gun for that matter) and see it shooting ropes and think its got a cheat/bounce in it. They keep seeing these guns and develop a prejudice toward them and categorise all of them like that.
the hopper of paint is just for if you think something is suss. people moan anyway even if you fire fifteen checking for ramping well certain peeps but they have the option too fill from a pot prior to the game and when ever there is a problem 90% of the time they can remedy it there or borrow a marker unless we are really pushed for time.

as for certain markers which run really sweet yeah people check them but it aint just timmys there are people who play every month who have very sweet egos and shockers and other markers.. point is if we think there is something not right ofcourse we will check otherwise we aint doing our job right..

i get my Dm6 checked a lot at the seven man it runs sweet but that does not bother me its part of the game. i have even loaned it to marshalls for lunch time one on ones..

The point i would like to make is if you aint happy with the way we have checked your marker or the amount of paint we have fired or if we are picking on your marker then bring it up with the organiser rather than slating us on here.. bring it up when something can be done about it rather than crying after when nothing can be done.

i have had a marker pulled on my field a few months back the guy then went to the organiser complained the organiser then brought the marker back asked to be shown what was wrong we showed them and our decision was final. i am happy with that he had the bottle to try and rectify it on the day..

cheers Neil

I've never had a problem with how marshalls have checked any of my team's guns. And we always make sure there's a spare pot of paint with one of the team mates that isnt playing that game so that we can top up after the chrono. Doesn't take a huge amount of effort really.

And even in KOTH I know that guns have been pulled for ramping, trigger bounce and running hot, so the marshalls are doing something right!

Thats where my problem lies. Whilst marshalls my think there is a problem, there more than likely isn't. The masters need to put into a practice a way of testing guns the same way on every field akin to the millenium/psp etc. To leave it up to the marshalls leaves the UKM open to this sort of thread/bashing. A hopper of paint because you think something is wrong is plainly ridiculous. Marshalls may not like the team walking on and so shoot through a hopper every time they go on that field etc etc. And before you say it doesn't happen, believe me it does.

Re: timmy's over other guns - There is a definite prejudice toward them. I've seen it in action since they first came out.

I agree with you though - sort it on the day.

To be honest, like i said earlier in the thread, was using a timmy with Tadao board in KOTH at lincoln and only got checked once all day, the marshall probably only fired about 15-20 balls.
Never noticed any bias or excesive use of paint by any of the marshals on any field.
Maybe you've just been unlucky

Your sorta misunderstanding me. What im trying to say is that timmy's a generally viewed as markers that are set up to cheat. A prejudice doesn't have to be in the open to be a prejudice.

Bon, I can see why you made not have had the best of days. My advice is take an extra pot and leave it next to the field. If the judges use alot of paint you can fill it up from that pot, I did it at the last koth and they were fine, just let them know what your doing. But dont start slagging them off. they have a job to do and it isnt easy. People will moan whatever the marshals do. If you feel that strongly why dont you marshal yourself? not only will you get to see their side of it, but you can actively change the way the marshals work. Hope this and all the posts on here help. Alot of good points made.

av' it coldy you double posting haxxor.

I hope something large and distasteful eats you both.

On a more serious note though, if a marshal decides to check your gun it's generally because he thinks that your a pikey.

They normally go for the guys skulking around at the back of the pack or the guy that holds the net for all the players to go through.
