PA canceeled yesterday?

From what I recall it was to do with the fact that the netting could be blown down due to the high winds. And it was the site operator that requested the cancelation of the event rather than the pa bods

I was up there on the Saturday to look at the fields and the wind was stupidly strong - no netting up and the one field that had been blown up was having it's bunkers ripped up by the wind. Even deflated bunkers were all over the place.

On Sunday morning the wind was just as bad but add to it torential rain. I spoke to Sparkie who had been there most of the night hoping for a break in the weather. He said that the health and safety of the players was at risk and that it would be impossible to get the netting up.

I really felt for the players who had travelled 3 hours plus to get there - the Bridgend boys had driven for over 4 hrs on Saturday and camped overnight - so not to play must have been gutting - but to be fair I did'nt hear anyone who was'nt totally reasonable about the situation.

The last I heard was the plan to hold two legs in one weekend next month - although with Campaign and other events in Spetember - the cost will have to be looked at.

By the afternoon it had calmed down. But it was not possible to start in the morning even after delaying an hour to see if the wind would die down.

Euro 5man had netting problems and the events still ran with little delay. The PA could have run if they put the netting in place Sunday Morning.

Errr what Weather. A bit of drizzel and a tad of wind. So will they never play a tournament up notrth again if this is what they class as bad weather??

We camped the weekend and totally understood the decision of the site owner. The wind was blowing a gale all night and by 8am the wind had increased and so had the rain. I believe it would have been impossible to put the fields up in those conditions even if they had been put up the day before i am sure they would have come down by the next morning. Safety was the big issue hear nothing to do with the guys and galls who run the PA. We were disappointed and so was everyone else but the correct decision made. Looking forward to the next round

Thank God i didn't travel that sort of distance for nothing... Would have been majorly p*ssed off

Weather

Well, i feel sorry for my team mates, Jersey Warriors. The guys travelled over on the sat and came back monday morning with nothing to show for it. Not spoken to them yet, but if the weather was that bad, then it sounded like the right decision. And let's say.....getting off this Rock ain't cheap!!!
